  1. But, but those are the amounts I want. Why are you stealing my snow?
  2. I'd like to lock that now. Stop the presses on the other model runs. And I want it exactly as its shown here, none of that "It's the NAM cut back on the qpf by 1/3" BS. I want the whole enchilada 12" of snow fortified by some sleet and freezing rain.
  3. He has to be right, there is a big snowflake over NE!
  4. BTV says 96% chance of 12”+ for St. Albans.
  5. Those are some of my worries. Though since I’m a pack guy, I’m fine with some sleet in the snow. Makes it durable.
  6. My wife did not listen to his advice...
  7. These words bring a tear of joy to my eye.
  8. Because of the hate and/or lack of interest in the main thread, I figured I'd post some expected storm total charts here.
  9. Drove through Rumford Sunday. Trust me, I knew we were going by them. Not as strong smelling as I remember though.
  10. I'd say lock that in but I'm a little gun shy this year
  11. You may have passed me somewhere between Bangor and Augusta Sunday afternoon. I saw a couple trucks with Mass plates and sleds in back fly by.
  12. 330 to Millinocket from here and just over 6 hours. It’s a bitch going East/West in NNE. I generally ride from home. Can even do that now, though it’s a bit scratchy until you get a little higher up in elevation. Early and late season I can trailer to a great parking lot 20 minutes away and for the very end or earliest start about an hour and a half up to the NEK.
  13. It really is a beautiful area. I read Thoreau's Maine Woods when I was young and really loved it. For any number of reason's I never did that exploring it made me dream of. This trip really rekindled my interest in that area.
  14. I think I have now driven through the towns of all our NNE posters. Decided to take Rt.2 home from ME yesterday and drove through Tamarack's town of New Sharon. I think he's making up his great snowpack retention, in fact, I think I saw palm trees! Just kidding. It was interesting to see the ebb and flow of snow on the way through. The Rumford area seemed to have a decent amount on the ground. Of course the one thing I remember about Rumford is the smell of the paper mill and it's still there.
  15. I feel bad for Finau, he just can't seem to get over the finish line. I listened to quite a bit of it on satellite radio driving home from Maine. Stopped for dinner with Finau leading by 2, came back out to hear Simpson sink the winning putt.
  16. After you’ve made your final measurements.
  17. Couple of more pics from our short ride this morning.
  18. I was just going to ask that. I’m not an experienced hiker but I can’t think of anything I’ve seen like that in this part of the country. Mansfield, Mt. Washington, the Presidentials you can see from the car or anything in VA or NC that I’ve driven through, are nothing like that. Anything in the Adirondacks?
  19. Yes, that is Katahdin. I wish the summit hadn’t been obscured.
  20. I have a friend who goes riding up in the Saguenay and he says it’s beautiful. I’ve done so little exploring in PQ other than Montreal. I’ve really have to do more
