  1. A friend who lives in Brunswick, ME has been without power since 9:45 last night.
  2. Just don't buy a snowmobile too, that would definitely clinch it.
  3. If winter 2020/21 rats out in NNE, we now have a scapegoat
  4. MHT will be easier. North/South travel in NNE is usually ok but East/West can suck. Even though you're on Rt.2 it can be a slog.
  5. The picture you posted was from a relatively poor winter. This year has been very uneven across NNE. Not great for pack building and not cold.
  6. Sweet. I only get up that way once or twice a year, usually on my way to Maine. When my son was little we would take him to Santa's Village and Six Gun City. It's a beautiful area.
  7. They call it Poor Man's fertilizer this time of year, maybe it will help his lawn.
  8. It was cloudy when we were there in February
  9. The scale of the Presidential's has always been what gets me. You don't get that anywhere else in the east.
  10. Same here and next week looks pretty crappy
  11. Yes, Randolph is a beautiful area. And you're close to Santa's Village and Six Gun City!
  12. Saw Blackberry Smoke play in Burlington a year or two ago. Great band
  13. Nice. I don't have any power issues because I live around the corner from a substation but if I ever build a house or move to a rural location, thats one thing I would install first thing.
  14. My back has no sesire for the amount of digging needed to explore those areas.
  15. Easy access too, not too far from I-91
  16. I had a good friend who had his first teaching job at N.Stratford, NH. He got an apartment in Colebrook. Lated one year and had to move back to this area. I do remeber that the Chinese restaurant in Colebrook was pretty good when I went up to visit. There was nothing going on up there. That was back in 93 or 94 I think.
  17. The Chic Chocs Mts. in Quebec and Labrador
  18. They hold the annual Snodeo at Colman State Park. That place gets rocked with snow. Even in poor years. I went up there in March 2006 and even in that craptacular year there was good snow up there.
  19. You don’t need to be, you just need to know the right people. Most loggers don’t own the land. When you buy it you hire a forester to help you make a plan to manage the land. I even think the State has foresters in each county that work with landowners to develop management plans for little or no fee. https://fpr.vermont.gov/forest/managing-your-woodlands/county-forester-program
  20. Near Jay it’s the Québécois.
  21. 53 and overcast but enough to open the windows and air the place out while doing housework.
  22. I’ll second what PF said about Montreal. Love that city. My last trip there a couple of weeks ago had to be canceled unfortunately. It’s a great city in winter and it really comes alive in summer. There are festivals almost every weekend and lots of parks and stuff to do outside. Montgomery is a cute little town. One of the stores in the village has an old fashioned soda fountain in it but I’m not sure if it’s still open. I did a little snowmobiling in that area this winter. As PF noted, it wasn’t a great winter but there was still plenty of snow there.
