  1. 1800’-2000’, where I was a lot this weekend, was 3’, give or take a few inches. It seems a little low but nothing crazy.
  2. I went snowmobiling on Wednesday the 23rd in that area of VT that got 40". To think that it was all gone less than 2 days later is mind blowing.
  3. Every time I glance at these photos and see ring in the upper left corner, I think it says f'ing and then think you're pissed off.
  4. Had 2”+ here at home. Went riding through the Groton area and up high it looked more in line with PF’s 4”-5”. Didn’t take many pictures today but it was a gorgeous day to be outside.
  5. Have no idea about the storm but there is only one reply for someone who asks if Tuesday is gone.
  6. Another skiing story from the BBC. Scottish resorts seeing the best snow in years and can’t open. Covid in Scotland: Closed ski resorts have 'best snow in years' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-55903349
  7. Not New England but I was just reading a BBC piece about a cross country skiing boom in France. France has 350 ski areas, downhill and cross country and the average cost of a pass is €32. More areas than I would have thought and much cheaper too. French skiers swerve Covid in cross-country boom https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55902315
  8. Hmmm, I wonder how she got the idea that 2” = 12”?
  9. Uh-oh, we could be losing Tamarack.
  10. Obviously he is still in MA mode. A tenth of an inch doesn't even constitute a nuisance.
  11. Yikes. Near 50 the day before too. That’s a hellacious cold front. Must have been some upslope on Mansfield.
  12. I was going to say, doesn’t read like a melt to me. It’s a pointed, satirical editorial. As with all such missives, there is an element of truth that makes it humorous.
  13. Volunteering at a vaccination clinic in St. Johnsbury today. A guy comes in with a 90+ ski club badge on and he’s wearing his ski pants and ski boots. He’s heading to Burke after getting his shot.
  14. Light to moderate at times here. We just did a 35 mile ride through Washington and Williamstown. I was actually thinking bye flow was becoming unblocked.
  15. I can tell already, that pile is way too close to the garage. You’ll have to have your guy come with the bucket loader and push it back.
  16. That was story early on here too. At least that has changed. My location has been fringed by the bigger storms but there haven't really been any big negative busts either so we are doing ok. Enough snow to ride from the house although its thin in spots, especially in softwood stands. On the way home from the store just now, I had to stop for the groomer to cross the road before I turned into my driveway so things are getting better.
  17. I know that our criteria for what constitutes a decent winter is basically the same but in terms of snowfall, it doesn't seem like you are that far behind at just under have your average. Retention has been a different story though.
  18. I wonder if any of the areas that jacked in the December storm got walloped again? It seems like your area over towards Ludlow has done well this year
  19. Best storm ever here. 34". My black lab mix jumped of the second step and disappeared like she was diving into a pond.
  20. It is steep. The first time I ever went to the camp was a sleety, snowy night in November. The ride back down the hill was white knuckled. I think the fact that I made it up in the first place was a positive check mark for me with my wife's father and her uncles.
  21. My wife's father grew up on Tracy Hill. His family owned a farm and he had 18 brothers and sisters. The family still has a hunting camp on about an acre of land up ther but I don't think anyone has been there for a few years.
