  1. Got my first shot today. There were some no-shows at the clinic I am volunteering at so they gave us a jab.
  2. Were you here in 2015/16? 2011/12? Those were way worse.
  3. Took a ride in a groomer tonight. Good snow cover everywhere. This type of snow is much better for snowmobilers than skiers.
  4. Ummm, Ginx retired after a career as a building engineer. I believe there was a hint of sarcasm in his reply.
  5. If you wait 6 more weeks, that will be more of a thaw down than a melt down.
  6. We’re you required to wait 15-30 minutes afterward?
  7. Same here. Not quite windexy but a squall nonetheless. Down to 23.5°
  8. It was good test for the new snowblower though. Sleety and icy enough so it wasn't too easy but only 2.5"-3" so I didn't break anything the first time out. As PF said, it's a nice qpf injection for the snowpack.
  9. The pull cord on my old one broke a week or 2 ago and the starter motor was giving me trouble. I decided that I didn't want to screw around anymore and got a new one. I have wanted one with a headlight and handwarmers so I broke down and spent the money. I hope I don't regret getting a 24" vs. the 26" I had but the reviews for the DR were pretty good and the features you get for $799 were worth a gamble.
  10. I'm fine with some sleet. As nice as this stretch has been, the snowpack could use and injection of durability. It will be a nice test of the new snowblower.
  11. Same here. Looks like 2.5"-3" but I haven't been out to measure yet because I don't want to be scalped.
  12. I hate to tell you this but I may have ruined it for you. I bought a new snowblower today. A sure sign that snow is done. What may balance that out though is the fact that I sold my snowmobile expecting to immediately purchase a newer one, which I learned had been sold before I could get down to buy it. So it’s a tossup on the big karma wheel of weather.
  13. It’s felt pretty similar too. We had a MLK Day storm in ‘07 and a smaller event before the big dog on VD. After that it was a monumental season.
  14. For years our dogs would go to my FIL’s and he lived watching them. When he passed, my MIL did some watching but after she passed, we started taking vacations separately and actually found that we enjoy that, some of the time. We tend to like different types of vacations, my wife love sitting at the beach or around a campfire and relaxing. I like to do things and see stuff and like a different activity or destination every day. My son gets 2 separate vacations and my wife and I get a little break from each other. Once in a while, like when we went to England for 10 days a couple of years ago, we will get a pet sitter but it’s rare.
  15. I think he said he would be in Northfield, which is about 15-20 minutes from me.
  16. I have gutters and pretty decent insulation but that wet heavy snow we had in January really had some moisture that seeped out on the non cold days that has built some icicles. Usually I don’t have a lot and none have formed in the last several weeks. I’m raking the roof tomorrow.
  17. Island Pond touched -25° this morning
  18. I saw a pic posted on FB of a thermo reading -26° in Canaan this morning
  19. That snow projection looks like it hits the same general area of VT that’s been in the jackpot zone repeatedly this year. Ludlow, Manchester, Stratton. @backedgeapproaching approves.
  20. It’s like the polar opposite of that winter a few years ago where January was below normal for temps and above normal for precip but it warmed up enough for rain and we had very little snow for the month.
  21. Yeah, there can be great riding then, no doubt. But I want snow everyday until March 15th and then it can melt. Our clubs groom until they don’t have snow so that’s not a big issue.
