  1. Bow season is October in VT and believe it’s similar in ME. Our rifle season starts Nov. 13th this year.
  2. Have appointments next week for the snow tire change on both cars. Hope to have the last leaves chopped today and tomorrow. After that, I should be set.
  3. My roof and solar panels looked like they had a frosting of snow on them
  4. Got down to 32.1° Cars and lawn frosted. It looks like KMPV only got down to 36°
  5. In the 22 years I’ve lived in this house, I don’t think I’ve lost power for more than an hour or two at a time. I think that’s mainly due to living less than a half mile from a sub-station. The propane generator with the auto switch would be a no brainer if I felt there was any threat of semi-regular power outages.
  6. It makes sitting next to the wood stove at camp with a bourbon in your hand easy too.
  7. Yeah, I was gonna say, other than ineedsnow and Mitch, nobody likes this stuff.
  8. Hopefully it doesn’t take all the leaves off the trees that I’ve been told won’t peak in NNE til early November.
  9. @Tezeta looks like you have company for the Mountain west thread.
  10. When they were up 34-13 going into the 4th he was thinking "The Pats will probably give up 28 points and lose".
  11. I thought so. It was a northeast facing aspect so that's probably why I could still see some when I was driving through around 3:00
  12. Was there snow/hoar frost on some of the mountains across from your place yesterday? I was driving through on my way home from Maine and it looked like it but I couldn't really tell.
  13. 33° at home. 42° here in Augusta, ME
  14. That was the joke. October snow ruining winter.
  15. Lava Rock will complain he only got 4” of rain when models were saying 6”. That will be enough though to wash away any bits of lawn he managed to start growing. Next spring he starts with bare ground again.
  16. I’m in Augusta, ME. It’s only 41° here. Back home it got down to 28°
  17. Is that a picture of Jerry from one of the get togethers?
  18. Northern Japan. Watch the first episode of this show
  19. I use between 5-600 gallons per year. It has gone down since I switched from oil domestic hot water to a hybrid hot water heater. I want to get the heat pump eventually, just haven't done it yet. The 2 tank set up was done by the previous owner. He had switched the house from electric baseboard to oil hot water baseboard. The boiler he installed was a 145,000 btu oil/wood/coal fired monstrosity that he had bought used from somewhere. It was so inefficient that we had to keep the window in our bedroom cracked in winter because the heat going up the chimney through our bedroom closet made our room too warm even when it was only set at 65°. I remember when that thing died. It was March 2001, during one of the snowiest stretches ever. There was so much snow that they couldn't take the old boiler out until mid-April.
