  1. I guess I should have said that permits for construction above 2500’ have to go through Act 250 and are usually subject to tough standards. It is very possible that the incident I was thinking about was the result of someone building without Environmental District review.
  2. If so, they’ve been there a long time. Development above 2500’ is really restricted. A few years ago a house in W. Dover was ordered to be torn down because they ignored that rule. I can’t remember all the details or find a link but I do remember it. I’m not sure what happened with the appeal or if it actually got demolished.
  3. There is a snowmobile trail up to the fire tower on Glastonbury Mt. I hope to ride sow there this year at some point.
  4. Beautiful day to be out in the woods.
  5. I haven’t seen it but I think the “hit piece” narrative came from Tiger’s reps. I read a review that said it’s good but different from the Jordan one. Of course it would be without Tiger’s input.
  6. He wouldn’t be making enough to afford half that house working for the Coos County sheriff. There is the federal prison in Berlin though. Corrections is a different world than police work though.
  7. Down to 23.7° here. Still occasional flakes.
  8. As soon as Jan 69 was mentioned, I thought of you.
  9. Lol. You sure they aren’t counting the amount of qpf shot out of snow guns once the temps are optimal?
  10. It might be but it is a pretty snowy area. It looks like from there up to Sugarbush had the highest totals.
  11. Still lightly snowing on and off. Enough to make I-89 a little slick. I was on my way back from W. Lebanon and had a car spin out in front of me between exits 5 and 6. The guy did a good job keeping it between the guardrails without hitting anything. I bet he wanted to change his pants afterward, I almost had to. Luckily we were both going only 55 or so and I was keeping some distance between us.
  12. Looks like the central spine has been the jackpot.

  14. Winter wonderland out there. I think somewhere between 8”-10”. I haven’t checked the PNS yet to see what my NWS employee neighbor has reported. She had 5.1” yesterday morning at 10:45.
  15. I think we will be somewhere between 8”-10” when all is said and done.
  16. You have winter storm watch out right?
  17. I drove through Peacham yesterday. I love that area. It’s beautiful.
  18. I think we are about at 6". There was a brief period of mist/sprinkles with some sleety stuff but it went back to snow for a while. Mostly shut off now. It is man snow though. I didn't even attempt to use my snowblower at the top of the driveway, I used the snow scoop. Roads are a mess.
  19. It's still HCS but they changed the platform. Not as many posting there. There are a few FB groups. New England Sled Talk is one and a guy I know started one for Vermont called Vermont Hardcore Sledders. I don't like the FB groups as much and I still check in on HCS in case there are any questions I can answer in the VT forum.
  20. I’d be pretty bitter about my 150” with BTV getting over 360” not too far away.
  21. Woke up between 7:00-7:30 and there wasn’t much snow. Fell back asleep until 10:00 (I got sucked into a Law and Order marathon last night) an woke up the second time to 3” of the heaviest snow imaginable. Still snowing at a good clip.
  22. I’ll be sitting on my porch at 1250’ staring longingly up the hill and at the snow cakes cars coming down.
  23. Ixnay on the atmospheric tide stuff. That’s way to close to GYX’s words that trigger Phin.
  24. Back then though people were riding around farm fields on Jags and Citations or Sno Jets like my wife and her brothers, when snow was low. Times have changed.
