There is a hillside next to 89 just south of the Waterbury exit that looks like it is almost completely oak. I haven’t driven by for a few weeks but those trees seem to keep their leaves for months after everything else drops.

Being prepared doesn’t necessarily mean everything was fixed immediately. Calling in help and having a plan is preparation too. You got your power back pretty quickly it seems. Especially after being hit with the equivalent of a cat 1

Bow season is October in VT and believe it’s similar in ME. Our rifle season starts Nov. 13th this year.

Have appointments next week for the snow tire change on both cars. Hope to have the last leaves chopped today and tomorrow. After that, I should be set.

Got down to 32.1° Cars and lawn frosted. It looks like KMPV only got down to 36°

In the 22 years I’ve lived in this house, I don’t think I’ve lost power for more than an hour or two at a time. I think that’s mainly due to living less than a half mile from a sub-station. The propane generator with the auto switch would be a no brainer if I felt there was any threat of semi-regular power outages.

It makes sitting next to the wood stove at camp with a bourbon in your hand easy too.

I thought so. It was a northeast facing aspect so that's probably why I could still see some when I was driving through around 3:00

Was there snow/hoar frost on some of the mountains across from your place yesterday? I was driving through on my way home from Maine and it looked like it but I couldn't really tell.
