This from earlier in case anyone thinks I exaggerate the incredible desolate dryness of this craphole. This happens all summer and it will not rain here again until deep into fall

80/68 with sun and calm. Feels like a hot one today We visited Calvert yesterday and it was strange seeing green grass due to good rain there last week

Very nice morning out except for the cicadas which are shrieking already. I wonder if they thrive in the new arid summer climate we have? LWX calling for showers again next week -- LOL. We barely got a drop last week with a stationary front and a cold front, and couldn't get any the week before with a strong front plowing into 103 degree air mass. We are going to OCMD end of Aug - I hope to see a thunderstorm there as it will be the only chance

Yep. I chuckled at LWX's P&C forecast of 1.25-1.75 inches for Monday/Monday night period plus more strong rain working thru Thursday, and laughed at the ridiculous qpf maps showing 2-3" for the week. As I knew would happen I only have a few hundredths of an inch for the whole week will finish July with well under an inch

So the rain later today looks to be central VA to southern MD. Another whiff. Then the dry front tomorrow and no more chances of rain for a very long time

This! It's the only way my micro-desert gets any real rain before the 6-month wet period of 40s/50s and rain starts in November. I hope we get a big one that turns Germantown's roads into rivers and washes all the tumbleweeds and gila monsters away

0.06 in the desolate Germantown desert while places close by to the east got over an inch. Only 0.86 for a July total (NO it will not rain a drop here the rest of the month) My sprinkler system is running hard this morning. The grass is gone and this time it's not coming back

This one from iweathernet is OK. It used to be great as you could zoom way in and was accurate. For some reason they ruined the zoom in ability. I've also see the 24-hour and 72-hour not match up Anyone know a better one?

Psshhh it ain't gonna rain next week. We'll get plenty in our 6 month wet season But wow it's a gorgeous day! Almost noon and only 79 degrees

That's what I'm hoping for. Tropical is going to be dead for a while with all that Sahara dust but should start up again in a few weeks. I'd like to see a large remnant go up the coast with a front slowly approaching from the west Cloudy and 78 in late morning which is a welcome change!

"Heavy rain" wording in forecast and I got a big 0.15. Total for July just 0.80 and there is no chance for any more rain for a long time

Yeah sorry to infect your area with the desert bug. Eh, I don't care I've let the grass go dormant and it'll be back when we get to our 6 months of rain and 40s in a few months. I just keep the flower garden and pots watered Let's get ready to enjoy some GREAT temps over the next week or so. We deserve it!
