  1. Snowing and 27 in Germantown, about 1/3" on the ground. Haven't other winters with first snows on Dec. 5 turned out pretty good?
  2. You relegated the half-n-half to a bottom shelf -- yeah you're doing it right! 33 and dropping; hoping for some Dec. 5 magic
  3. Nice map! Virginia living right: UVA in ACC championship and chance for playoffs, VT has shiny new coach, and SNOW
  4. Parts of the area also got snow on 12/5/2003. That was back when N&W suburbs meant something. I had like 8" in Germantown and rode the MARC to DC for work and it was wet ground there
  5. MoCo-HoCo band! It's missing the 5 inch lolli over Mt. PSU though
  6. Me too. An inch of snow out of this set-up this early in the season and I am thrilled
  7. I was also 12 living in northern Calvert County! Best storm of them all for me and I was in Germantown for 1996, 2010 and 2016. Calvert was hardest hit with well over 30 inches and howling winds. At times we could not see the woods 50 feet behind the house. We had drifts off the roof that linked with the ground, and cars were just lumps.
  8. That big Ohio State - Michigan showdown came so close to being a full-on snow game. Game is at noon and heavy snow moves in there by evening and goes all night.
  9. Eh?! You don't mean Charlotte, NC do you?
  10. Nevermind LOL! It shifted just west at the last minute. The dome is in effect after all
  11. Got a nice t-storm coming in and the thunder is rolling. This makes up for summer when I hardly get any thunderstorms here
  12. Too bad you can't hunt in my neighborhood. We must have about one tree demon squirrel for every 100 square feet.
  13. A nice 12-hour rainfall with 0.5 to 1.0 is just what I need with the grass seed starting to come up. Some peeks of sun and 50
  14. I was just reading an "ask me anything" post on Reddit where a poster along with 12 others got stuck in one of those resorts on the north coast. They tried to get out their flight was cancelled and couldn't find any. They are hunkered in the resort's conference center with 300-400 people (Ocean Eden Bay, about 25 miles east of Montego Bay). It looks like it will be wild for Montego Bay later
  15. Especially with such a compact system. Look how small the hurricane force winds area is! If it managed to get just a little more west before it turns it would be hugely helpful for Jamaica
  16. That storm was a sicko. It entered Jamaica with 115 mph sustained and exited at 130. I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the old TWC tropical updates
  17. Since I overseeded I'll take the overnight drizzle. Even though is causes fumbles
  18. Pretty much! But hey we get to practice our base state of clouds, drizzle and wind that we'll be treated to for five months starting soon
  19. Sunny and 61, nice fall day. I'm going to enjoy before we go into three days of dreariness which produces about 0.15 of rainfall.
  20. I saw some rain staying in Calvert for a few days but I'm back in the desert now. I've got 2.04 for the month after a nearly rainless August and have only 22 for the year.
  21. Luckily no roosters! They used to have one and I swear that thing's reason for living was to try to murder me Sun coming out in Germantown! Better enjoy it
  22. I'll be in Calvert Wed thru Sat staying with my dad and looking after pets while rest of family is out west for a wedding....including my nephew's SEVENTEEN chickens. It's easy when it's dry, but they told me it's a huge mess when it rains. Uh, I'm thinking I'm in trouble? Time to look for some mudder boots. QPF forecast looks juicy!
  23. Well that was awkward down in Calvert yesterday LOL. We visited for a b-day dinner at a restaurant on the bay and I was saying all week "oh yeah we can sit outside - it's gonna be perfect weather." I'm thinking what the heck is this as we drive south thru a heavy shower around Dunkirk, then it proceeds to rain much of the afternoon. That was unexpected!
  24. Yeah that band has been great for the Frederick region. Even we got a decent amount overnight (now that summer is almost over it can rain here)
