  1. And a bonanza for southern MD! I fled that place because of snow but this winter my Calvert folks got a thundersnow squall with 2" in a half hour on Jan 3, and 11 inches on Jan 6. They also had a 15-inch storm a few years ago that the northern part of the forum missed
  2. What I like about these latest runs is the slight WSW to ENE orientation rather than straight west to east. I am starting to feel good about this one!
  3. Just wet sidewalks as I walked doggie a few minutes ago, until I hit a patch of sidewalk that is shaded most of the day and almost went down! 31 and fz drizzle
  4. Moderate rain and 33. We'd have been in trouble just a few degrees colder
  5. Sun starting to poke through and temp has zoomed into the low 40s. No ice worries here
  6. The way radar looks we'd be flipping out if this was snow! Hoping for some rain to wash the salt off the streets
  7. Euro has DC at 64 degrees next Sunday at 2 PM, and the GFS has 25 degrees. Ever seen them that far apart? Confirms that the funny phone weather app hugs the Euro
  8. A few flurries and 21. There's no wind and the flakes fall super slow
  9. P&C says 15-21" today with high of 9 degrees - WOW! Looking forward to more pics. I have to chase LES one day Sunny and 13
  10. It's weird reading about places in central Louisiana and Mississippi missing snow to the south! Current P&C has 3-7 for Baton Rouge, 3-5 for New Orleans and 1-3 for Pensacola
  11. Can't remember seeing WSW this far south before. NW Florida has a winter storm watch for up to 3" of snow. Crazy
  12. Done in Germantown with about 1.5 which is pretty disappointing compared to the 3-5 forecasted. Looks wintry though and the freeze up begins
  13. WOW congrats! Just 20-something miles from here. I have about 1.5 with mod snow
  14. I would be ecstatic with that! Maybe expecting a little bit of pivot with the bands? Mod snow and eyeballing about 3/4 inch. This stuff really stuck to trees which looks beautiful
  15. Bah! Do it tomorrow morning - that game is gonna be fun Mod snow and a good coating; still at 35
  16. Light/mod snow and 35, starting to coat the grass a little. One window next to the TV faces a still snow-covered area so it looks good looking out that one Radar trend and the new meso put out is looking nice for the northern tier of MD
  17. Surprised to see LWX double down and hold snowfall amounts. I thought for sure they would cut in half the way things look. I hope they are right but I don't expect more than a coating to an inch Light rain, 38
  18. Do it! Some years ago in a similar set-up, I drove just 33 miles from Germantown to South Mountain park and went from a slushy coating to 5 inches on the ground with cottonball sized flakes. Even Frederick just 10-ish miles away only had an inch or so Currently light rain and 38
  19. We'll see but that 12z HRRR looks like what I'm expecting, 1-2 inches in central/upper MoCo
  20. Temp rose all night to a toasty 38. LWX still saying 3-5 in my area (Germantown) but I am expecting rain to snow with a max of 2"
  21. Just NE of Germantown I've gone from 33 a couple hours ago to 36 (elev. around 550)
  22. That rookie QB is special. I can't believe my (now deceased) Noles beat him twice Clouds moving in and 32 degrees. I'm looking forward to some big cottonball flakes tomorrow!
  23. Careful on sidewalks! Despite therm showing 33 our sidewalks are iced over and I almost bought it walking doggie just now
  24. I am rooting for Terpeast's map to verify! Would be beautiful for central MD 37/33 under mostly clear skies (hope we stay clear most of the night)
