Just noticed that the Miami Hurricanes are in Yankee Stadium for their bowl game against Rutgers on Dec. 28 -- can we get the coldest possible arctic airmass for that day please? Snow would be fantastic

I know we all wish this was snow but I am pretty happy for the rainfall amounts from that last storm and now this one looking like a good 2-3" or more to put another dent in these departures. I feel like even without ideal set-ups, getting regular storms like this we are going to hit on one or two of them for some good snow

I was wondering about that too with much smaller amounts nearby, but maybe a lucky heavy burst? It's just curious though right on the water. Some good measurements in southern MD though, for example a couple inches in LaPlata (hi diatae!) Got 1.5 in Germantown which triples last winter's total MoCo schools delayed so my wife's preschool is closed. That's a gift since she's dealing with a bad cold and does not get paid on sick days

Yeah just a light rain event, never had more than brief moderate rain although the thunder this morning was nice. Rainfall east of the bay looks impressive

A number of years ago I drove to South Mountain Park in a similar setup and went from wet ground to 5" of snow and big cottonball flakes coming down. It was just 33 miles from my house. I was struck by how little snow was OTG close by near Frederick in the snow shadow Rain and 56

Thunder in Germantown! It's a treat for us because thunderstorms are so rare here in summer due to rain shadow -- I might get two or three over a whole season if I'm lucky

Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible. Tonight: Snow, mainly before midnight. Low around 18. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

I'd love that! I enjoy the occasional winter storm but do not like the six months of depressing bare trees and dreariness at all Sunny and still 80 at 5 pm

37 here and frost on some roofs but not on grass. It's funny seeing temps in the low to mid 50s in Garrett County as the heat wave starts to roll in

Drippy droppy day as we get ready to get the crockpot going, the beers chilled and an all-day football marathon I found a monarch chrysalis on hanging from our fence and it's hatching this morning. With periods of rain and highs only in the 50s, it's going to be a guest for a few days!

I believe that's right -- October 10, 1979. I was in middle school in Calvert County and everyone was stunned seeing 2-3" of snow on the ground and still-green trees. Can't believe it's been 44 years!

Cloudy and 69 as our mini heat wave comes to an end. We got a surprise light shower last night. Yesterday evening my wife asks should we cover the deck chairs and I'm like nah. Oops

What a gorgeous day and looking forward to a couple more. I'm trying to take in as much as I can of the green trees and flowered gardens knowing that months of dead-looking landscape lurks around the corner My 25-year old board name doesn't match me any more LOL. Give me nine months of summer

About 30 so far with about 10 to go. My wife took a few into her pre-school class for the kiddos to watch them hatch and release them So now my zone has partly sunny tomorrow and Thursday -- yes please! I'm really looking forward to that nice stretch starting Saturday. We need to cram the good weather in before deep fall arrives
