  1. Nah that was my wife stomping across the house pissed off at me
  2. It stayed above freezing, 34-37, here on the hill and I only noticed spots of frost on vehicles with nothing on the garden plants including the stuff in hanging baskets. Phew...
  3. Putnam doesn't vote the same as the rest of the Metro area.
  4. Yup. Cold right now is really just using heating oil unnecessarily and killing the last fresh veggies out of the garden. I'd be fine with it if it didn't get much below 40 until it's about to snow.
  5. What I noticed driving around the Croton res yesterday is the water level is as low as it's been in years. All through this dry stretch it stayed up and now, after getting a bunch of rain, it's pretty low. Have they started the pre-winter water release already? It seems early for that.
  6. .24. Some local stations were under .2 and the Brewster Mesonet shows .3 but most are between .2 and .28.
  7. It rained hard but ended quickly, .24.
  8. The last "normal" fall before CC truly wins?
  9. And the color here sux compared to west and north where they got rain this year.
  10. See below. You're still in moderate and 60 miles away I'm in severe drought. These deficits won't be erased with a few rainy days. That last map is too vague, it's more than a half inch high where I am.
  11. The difference from southern Dutchess and far western Orange to where I am is dramatic, the colors are much less vivid and the wind on Saturday took out a lot so it's well on the way to stick season. That snow and rain I didn't get...
  12. The best color is from Monroe then north and west. There's a noticeable difference in the intensity of the colors both in the trees and the flowers.
  13. The line between where it was dry vs wet is pretty dramatic. I'm still parsing it out, will throw my thoughts out after this current lap of the state is done on Friday night.
  14. Updated to 1.53 event total including .08 late on the 3rd and a heavy shower after my previous post.
  15. I only got 2 or 3 all season but then it rained... I've been pulling a couple a day for the last week or so The strawberries are doing well too and a bunch of tomato plants I thought were dead revived themselves and started putting on fruit yesterday.
  16. It's pouring right now. Intermittent showers, some heavy, have been rolling through all night but this is the heaviest yet. It's only added up to .25 since midnight though. The thunder was pretty signicant too.
  17. Reservoir levels are meaningless to my well and dead garden that didn't produce the food I planned for I'm in reservoir land here and I was 25" below average last winter. I was also about 8" shy on liquid precip too.
  18. I dunno, while it has been wetter than the past few months it won't even make a dent. I'm under .5 in the last week and down over 12" this year. It only looks green here, dig down 6" and it's dusty dry.
  19. I was thinking that when I was driving home from Springfield MA yesterday. The NW side of the storm looked more winter like than extratropical.
  20. Well this is a pretty uncomfortable cold wind. I'm not ready yet...
  21. Yeah that's wrong. They forgot to use the numbers from Floyd in 1999, 14" in Fahnestock and other similar amounts in the area.
