  1. I water strategically. Usually around sunrise, then I'll do a 10 minute mist once or twice during the hot periods because most of the garden is in and out shaded and then another good deep watering in the early evening. If I wasn't on a well this would be unsustainable.
  2. Some fully exposed ground got wet. It even stayed wet for about 10 minutes. That was nice.
  3. Did anyone get wet today? @DRVTSdid it rain at your place? It looked like you were getting it pretty good from my hill.
  4. Yeah we had our puppy with us today and she wouldn't step off the concrete sidewalk to the asphalt parking lot after the first step.
  5. My backyard is such a respite on days like these. The sun really only gets the patio for 2 or 3 hours and the yard is ringed by 75 footers. Then as you head just downhill it's all exposed and much warmer. This creates a little breeze as the cooler shady air gets pulled down to where the hot air is rising. Don't you love when you're driving along and the AC is getting warmer not colder Uggh
  6. I haven't looked into it but I think that was a regional thing rather than a larger scale setup. It would be interesting to see if there's a similar delay in the seasonal changes elsewhere.
  7. .87. The garden was happier today than any other day this summer.
  8. Nope. Well, maybe in a few spots but not the whole region.
  9. Yeah I got a short heavy downpour after the first few wet hours and it didn't run off at all so your theory is right. My garden is hardly damp 4" down and still dry at 6". Lol
  10. Moderate rain with some rolling thunder and a few flashes. .5 so far but it has been foggy and soggy so the plants are responding as if it's more. My melon vines have grown almost a foot today!
  11. Just a little rolling thunder and a few flashes, it's raining but nothing special. .5 on the day so far.
  12. It started here a few minutes ago.
  13. If I hadn't been home to see it happen I wouldn't have been able to tell a half hour later.
  14. Rubber bands snapping and all that... It's going to take a 65" 12 month period to get me back to average to compensate for the last 12 dry months.
  15. Another swing and a miss I thought I'd paid enough but I still can't buy a drop of rain l. I'm starting to lose stuff in the garden due to our wonderfully hard water
  16. Because average doesn't give you much to talk about. The more extreme "it" is the more animated some people get and they thrive on that, after a while they just have to have it. It's like a drug.
  17. Looks like . 45 for the month so far. I can't believe there were no wildfires started Monday night.
  18. Probably not warm enough for you
  19. I guess I got a quarter inch after I posted. Woohoo lol.
  20. 1 mile west and 2 miles east of my house got about a half inch more than my house today
  21. 2 miles east and 1 mile west got almost a half inch more than my hill
  22. We're out of town for the weekend but the kidz are home and I checked all of the stations for a few miles around, the highest I can find is .02 Dry begets dry... We are at Lake Winnipesaukee and the same here, not even enough drizzle to wet the ground.
