  1. I was thinking that too but was afraid to say it out loud. We're also not experiencing the gypsy moth problem they are in New England. Unfortunately due to minimal flowers and who knows what else, I've only seen 2 bees in my garden so far.
  2. Drizzle so light the ground isn't even getting wet. Meh...
  3. I got exactly an inch also. There isn't even a hint of a breeze, it's beyond muggy and the sky off to my ESE is angry. 68° and 98% RH. Yuck.
  4. 1" so far and it looks like it's nearly over here. Lotsa rain and no wind, could've been worse.
  5. Too wet to mow for sure and I was planning to hit the half of the yard I let go last month so the tall-grasses could go to seed. The garden got enough to not have to worry considering what's coming but the ground was dry under the denser plants.
  6. All I've gotten so far is a bunch of wind as the southern end of the first line fell apart when it crossed the river.
  7. Wait, it's starting to make sense now. It came out of the (big) river near Indian Point and headed upstream...
  8. If it could be like this 25 days a month I'd be ok with it.
  9. Are you sure? I thought it was the mucky zone between the Belt Pkwy, the dump and the Canarsie pool.
  10. I love when it snows lightly for hours and there's nothing on radar but I really dislike the same setup when it's wet rather than white. Heavy mist for hours sux.
  11. 1.4" in not much more than a half hour. It was fun
  12. This was a bit more than a shower, I got 1.4 in less than an hour. I had to pick my kid up from work at the peak and the driving was "interesting". Strangely I think it would have been worse if the ground was as dry as it was a month ago, it came down so fast that it all would have run off before being absorbed and it would have carried all sorts of loose dirt and debris.
  13. Got a few embedded heavier showers already and it looks like it's expanding over this side of the river. Another winner of a day
  14. Looks like today's rain should start popping any time now.
  15. I fall asleep by 9 or so unless I'm up doing stuff. A couple of days a week it's 2 or maybe 3 drinks, eat dinner, sit down, fall asleep within an hour. I'm old though We've gotten enough rain now that the soil is wet at least a foot down. Looks like drought won't be a thing this year unless something really dramatic happens. IME once everything is leafed out and the soil moisture is replaced it ends up being a good growing year.
  16. Between the watering yesterday and about .2 of steady, soaking rain last night the garden is looking perky and happy this morning. It's nice out there now after that heat the last few days.
  17. I saw some crazy high temps around town today, as high as 99 in mostly paved areas and even the sunny spots around my hill. The shady areas stayed in the high 80s. It was really uncomfortable
  18. So, rain tonight or early tomorrow looks good right? I don't feel like watering the garden.
  19. Actually it's not so bad (here in Misquamicut), dense fog, no wind and the sun just now burning off the top layers so it's bright and comfy at 70°. The place is empty I've never seen a beach resort town this quiet on Friday of Memorial Day Weekend. edit: The fog is back, THICK.
  20. The only upside I see to this mornings and tomorrow's weather is we will be out of town until late Monday and I won't have to worry about watering the garden. Unfortunately we'll be at the beach watching the weather suck from an expensive hotel room.
  21. Hey, someone order me up a few more days like this. Thanx
  22. I'm having a hard time figuring out what my actual high temp was because a bunch of stations near me crashed today, one showed 107 and one never went above 78. It looks like low 90s for sure and 95 is likely based on dashboard thermo going as high as 98. I'm really quite surprised we burned through all that moisture so quickly.
  23. I'm surprised how quickly the temp jumped even with everything being so soggy. I saw 90 on the dashboard a few minutes ago.
  24. It's beautiful out here (in the shade) right now. It would be better if the dumbass neighbor would shut the mower off and stop arguing with wet gooey grass.
  25. FKNA yeah, haha. Start a Hall of Fame thread.
