  1. And the color here sux compared to west and north where they got rain this year.
  2. See below. You're still in moderate and 60 miles away I'm in severe drought. These deficits won't be erased with a few rainy days. That last map is too vague, it's more than a half inch high where I am.
  3. The difference from southern Dutchess and far western Orange to where I am is dramatic, the colors are much less vivid and the wind on Saturday took out a lot so it's well on the way to stick season. That snow and rain I didn't get...
  4. The best color is from Monroe then north and west. There's a noticeable difference in the intensity of the colors both in the trees and the flowers.
  5. The line between where it was dry vs wet is pretty dramatic. I'm still parsing it out, will throw my thoughts out after this current lap of the state is done on Friday night.
  6. Updated to 1.53 event total including .08 late on the 3rd and a heavy shower after my previous post.
  7. I only got 2 or 3 all season but then it rained... I've been pulling a couple a day for the last week or so The strawberries are doing well too and a bunch of tomato plants I thought were dead revived themselves and started putting on fruit yesterday.
  8. It's pouring right now. Intermittent showers, some heavy, have been rolling through all night but this is the heaviest yet. It's only added up to .25 since midnight though. The thunder was pretty signicant too.
  9. Reservoir levels are meaningless to my well and dead garden that didn't produce the food I planned for I'm in reservoir land here and I was 25" below average last winter. I was also about 8" shy on liquid precip too.
  10. I dunno, while it has been wetter than the past few months it won't even make a dent. I'm under .5 in the last week and down over 12" this year. It only looks green here, dig down 6" and it's dusty dry.
  11. I was thinking that when I was driving home from Springfield MA yesterday. The NW side of the storm looked more winter like than extratropical.
  12. Well this is a pretty uncomfortable cold wind. I'm not ready yet...
  13. Yeah that's wrong. They forgot to use the numbers from Floyd in 1999, 14" in Fahnestock and other similar amounts in the area.
  14. West Virginia has been getting dumped on for hours and hours. It's gotta be getting scary in a large area now.
  15. It's not bad here in Rhinebeck. Just a bit of drizzle this morning, now it's dry and breezy.
  16. It snowed on Whiteface yesterday. Mansfield and some of the North central Greens saw some ice and mangled flakes. It's coming
  17. Looks like I got ~.7. I was all around WNY today and as the front passed this morning it turned decidedly fall like. The wind turned steady out of the NW and it dried out quickly while still being convective with that mean sky. The wind was a handful at times. My daughter even noted that it's the first time it feels like fall not just a cool summer evening.
  18. It's full on autumn north of I90 but it's like all the farmers are delaying the harvest as long as possible. In some places 1/3 or more of the fields are standing dead though
  19. .2. Headed out of town for a few days to do a lap of the state. Literally. Plattsburgh tomorrow, Syracuse Wednesday and Buffalo Thursday then home to repack Friday and on to Suffolk County on Saturday. Good thing gas isn't still over $5/gal.
