  1. Hey, someone order me up a few more days like this. Thanx
  2. I'm having a hard time figuring out what my actual high temp was because a bunch of stations near me crashed today, one showed 107 and one never went above 78. It looks like low 90s for sure and 95 is likely based on dashboard thermo going as high as 98. I'm really quite surprised we burned through all that moisture so quickly.
  3. I'm surprised how quickly the temp jumped even with everything being so soggy. I saw 90 on the dashboard a few minutes ago.
  4. It's beautiful out here (in the shade) right now. It would be better if the dumbass neighbor would shut the mower off and stop arguing with wet gooey grass.
  5. FKNA yeah, haha. Start a Hall of Fame thread.
  6. My garden is doing very well. We'll see what happens as the buggy community gets it's shit together over the next week or two.
  7. There's steam coming off the sunny parts of my yard. Until the surfaces dry off I'm having a hard time with temps going too much past the mid 80s today. Tomorrow is a different story.
  8. Boy this is some pretty well soaked ground (and everything else) for the temps to get into the 90s tomorrow. Either way it's gonna be a muggy mess. Yay.
  9. Sorta. I was shoeless, shirtless and had all the windows (and roof) open. This was before I had cars with electric windows so I had to stop and run around the car closing stuff barefoot in heavy snow. It kinda sucked The 85° difference in an hour was pretty cool though
  10. I was in Denver in July or August 1987, it was 109° downtown. 70 or so miles west I had to stop and put the (removable) moonroof back in the car because it was 24° and snowing heavily. 15 miles after that it was back to 85° and beautiful. That was fun.
  11. Nice enough thunderstorm I guess, it was the heaviest rain I've had yet this year so there's that but it was only .8". I guess that puts me around half of where I should be for the year so far.
  12. I had .1" early this morning, not a drop since about 5am.
  13. It has been raining often enough but not much falls each time, it has been foggy frequently but it burns off early, the temps have been slightly above normal but the RH has been well below and with damn near no snow the soil has been drying for months. I'm also noticing an even higher amount of standing dead trees, both evergreens and hardwoods, and a distinct lack of understory growth mixed with lots of downed trees and fuels on the floor of the forests. It's gonna be an interesting fire season.
  14. You can keep that swamp ass stuff down there in NJ. Thanx.
  15. Most of the seeds are in now. It feels like I'm a few weeks late but just based on leaf out and general greenness it's right on schedule compared to my pictures from the last few years. I'd sure like to see some rain soon, it's really dry and a good garden is gonna take up a bunch of well water if it doesn't.
  16. Looks like 43 was the low here, it stayed above 40 both nights. Can we turn this wind off yet?
  17. Soil temp is finally coming up, tomato seeds and a few others will finally go in tomorrow. I have a bunch of other stuff in but it's a slow start. The berries from last year are going bonkers though and the garlic I put in around early November is big already, some may be able to be used in just a few weeks. It's dry though so things may get dicey a lot earlier this year than usual if we don't get a few good soakings a month, this couple of tenths at a time stuff isn't gonna cut it.
  18. Because they're all so good at reading models...
  19. Sun is peeking through the clouds here now, temps are mid 40s. If it wasn't so windy it might feel sorta springlike...
  20. The soil moisture meter I use in the garden shows on the dry side of moist 3" down and dry at 4". That's 1.5" deeper than last Wednesday when it was at 1.5>3 so this rain did some good but not enough.
  21. It stopped raining here about 2 hours ago. Unless the northern end drifts back this way I'll end at 1.05". 50°, damp and windy isn't what I think of when I think of Mother's Day weekend.
  22. But if you go down 3" it's powdery dry. What deep moisture there was is already sucked out by plants leafing out (in slow motion )
  23. I was gonna say that when LB said excessive rain. The numbers prove that it has been dry but we've gotten enough moisture to keep the surface soft.
  24. That's our conundrum too. The best solution I can come up with is a 38 foot coach with a toy hauler trailer.
  25. .3 but it's wetter than that would indicate.
