  1. Check out the snow on those terrain parks at Palisades! https://blog.palisadestahoe.com/conditions/apr-5th-terrain-parks-firing-for-spring/ I'd LOVE to 'board those! All that white snow, with an excellent 228 inch base, solid right thru June at least! WOW I wub Palisades Tahoe so much! SKI IT, BOARD IT, DIG IT! Where else you gonna go?
  2. I loved the OBX when I still lived back East.
  3. You wanna see snow, you know where to go! Palisades Tahoe! They are gonna get 6 more inches of snow tomorrow! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams
  4. Its a plane hop away and a rental car drive. The deep snows at Palisades are waiting for you! The base at Upper Mountain is 231 inches deep! Breathe in some fresh snowy mountain air! Revel in the thrilling REAL mountain snowfall, as you happily watch the winds blow that snow into drifts! Stroll around and soak in the exhilaration of a near record snow season at Palisades! Soar in the chairlifts and ski deep stashes of pristine pow! Shred those slopes with your very own skis or snowboard! Pretend to lose your balance, roll in the deep fresh powder and revel in real pristine snowpack! You haven't LIVED until you immerse yourself in the glorious winter wonderland known as Palisades Tahoe!
  5. Love that place too! I'd dig them right out of that snow!
  6. Damn I miss Tahoe so much! I loved all that deep drifted pristine snow! I rolled in it like a little kid, took many deep deep breaths of fresh snowy mountain air that smelled like Victory! I reveled in the excitement of real fresh mountain snowfall and lows in the upper single digits! I happily watched that wind blow that fluffy Palisades snow into beautiful drifts! I miss Tahoe so damn much! I am not much of a skier, but I loved the look of freshly corduroyed ski trails. No way was I gonna go off piste after that near miss with a tree well! I happily jebwalked in the village and gaped at the humongous Brobdingnagian piles of snow! They told me they will be open past Fourth of July, at least! I was so happy I thought my heart would burst for pure joy! FOR REAL SNOW, the Place to Be, aint the Great Lakes or the Northeast. Forget Jay Peak. I am GLAD I wasnt raised Jay! It is any of the Western ski resorts that are THE PLACE TO BE FOR REAL SNOW! These resort destinations, such as Palisades Tahoe, Bear Valley, Mammoth Lakes, Alta, Utah and many others, are the place to be for real deep snows! It stays COLD and the snow just piles up! It's world class skiing well into the Spring! Atmospheric Rivers simply PILE ON the snow FEET DEEP! One thing I personally observed at Palisades, and have seen many many times on the high resolution webcams, is how those Sierran winds just pile snow into drifts! They clear the 8200' level platform off, the WIND piles the fluffy Palisades snow right back up on the platform! That place, is definitely a snow lovers' wet dream come wonderfully true! The snow is glorious and so are the cold temps! That wind just blows snow all over the place! I was so happy about it, I nearly cried tears of pure rapturous JOY!! I miss Palisades so damn much. All that fresh, deep snow! All the wonderfully corduroyed ski trails! Just gotta try to stay away from those accursed tree wells! Off piste is for experts only! The Ski Patrol is tired of snow, I'd gladly dig out KT-22 for FREE, all by myslef! With a Jebman Shovel! I dont ever get tired of snow! I crave more! I'd happily and lovingly dig out KT-22 with a shovel then be there early the next morning, Jebman Shovel in hand, all ready to dig 'em out again after yet another atmospheric river of torrential snow!
  7. That is SERIOUS, SERIOUS business. I daydream a LOT. Cant be doing that in the mountains. Thats how people get seriously injured or end up dead. Gotta remember that. Those western ski resorts are a completely different world from south central Texas. I got back and its 89/73 here in Buda, I am sweating a ton and disgusted, had to do some digging of a different sort here in Texas, water line broke, damn donkey chewed it up. I'm TIRED of summer already! I love that deep snow and super cold weather so much! I wish I could LIVE there! Its hot, its humid, and I am coughing up my lungs thanks to oak pollens. The air was so clean and crisp and fresh in Tahoe and the entire world was so white and wide and deep! Oh, hot Texas with an early summerlike onset UGH!
  8. One thing I have GOT to learn to do is FOCUS. This aint south central Texas. I was walking around, daydreaming about a monster 15 foot week long snowblitz here at Palisades, chuckling about all the ski patrol having to dig all the chairlifts out of the snow, all while I watch them, while shoving popcorn into my face, along with a terminal payload of rich butter, and damn near almost fell right into a snow well. I was very fortunate, I just managed to catch myslef in time! You fall in a snow well with a tree in it, chances are you get injured and no one finds you til the summer! Snow wells form around trees as the snowpack settles and tends to pull away from the tree, and as frackin DEEP as this pack is, I'd be a frozen goner in no time. I got shaken up but good, I KNOW that was a near death experience and I went back in the damn village. I'll kick back safely at the bar and daydream about improbable 100,000 year mega blizzards here at Palisades. The clouds are interesting to look at as they go by, some of them BELOW me lmao! Too bad I didnt get to see a flake today. Maybe tomorrow.
  9. I finally decided to splurge the little savings I have, on seeing Palisades before Spring springs in a couple of weeks. This is Jebman, Reporting to you LIVE from Palisades Tahoe! I will be enjoying the snow here the next couple days, they will be getting 6 inches Sunday and Monday! 1) It was a BASTARD trying to DRIVE a rental from Reno to Palisades. The roads are a NIGHTMARE up here, one frackin' lane! Dont these people even know how to plow snow? The berms are unbelievable! It is snowing and COLD AS FOOK! Its supposed to be around 20 degrees but it feels like 30 below, especially with that NASTY WIND! I was chanting WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW and blasting ELO songs at high volume! 2) I have not set foot in a snow region in five years. I am so excited, I tried to walk up to High Camp at 8200 feet, from the Village, at 6000 feet. These people dont appreciate jebwalks. I almost got arrested by one Ben Leech, I think he might be the director of ski patrol operations, he caught me trying to sneak up to High Camp while he was grooming the slopes with a snowcat! I came THIS CLOSE to going to jail! He damn near ejected me from the Resort! That son of a bytch did NOT like me trying to hide from his snowcat! I wanted High Camp so bad at night, I could TASTE it! 3) There is NO FRACKIN' AIR up here! I am an older man now, and I huff at sea level in south Texas. Up here even at village level, at 6200 feet, I damn near need supplemental oxygen! LMAO, I dont think I am going to be any good in a REAL mountain jebwalk lol! Man I AM an old man! My stepdad Ken needed supplemental oxygen at 78 years old, not frackin' 59! 4) Yardsticks are no good here! The damn snow is too damn deep! I kicked back with my headphones blasting ELO songs in a state of near bliss in Heaven at all the HUGE, Brobdingnagian snowbanks all around the Resort! Man it is so damned COLD up here! There's a HUGE difference between 87/70 in Buda and 20/14 with a nasty WIND blowing dry snow around! People are boggling at me looking out the window at the falling snow in the lights like I have never seen snow before! LOL I dont think I am even gonna be able to sleep tonight! The enormity of actually BEING in such a snow filled location is just STAGGERING! I want to show these folks how to dig snow! Maybe tomorrow!
  10. I am glad I dont live in Tornado Alley. I live in Drought Alley instead, and we are on track for record drought again this year.
  11. I love those rivers SO MUCH! I wish Palisades and Mammoth and Alta and Bear Valley could have 17 MORE in April. I wub deep snow and watching vids of people slaving away trying to dig chairlifts and HOUSES out of meters of snow! Nothing gladdens my heart more! Something like that would merit about ten thousand Bob Chill FACES!
  12. I need a universal translator here. Can you say that in standard English, please?
  13. BEAR VALLEY, California 35 feet of snow, ski personnel forced to dig snow with shovels in order to dig out the chairlifts. Absolutely hilarious! They are gonna be digging for a while. Don't look now but NINE MORE INCHES for Palisades for Sunday!!!
  14. That drift is still there on the 8200' level! I love that deep snow SO MUCH, it is unbelievable! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams I want to roll in it SO BAD, I can taste it! That's a LOT of fresh snow! TWO DAYS AGO THERE WAS NO SNOW AT ALL THERE!
  15. Time sensitive! Guy is snow blowing the drift, man the drift is at least 7 feet tall! ttps://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams
  16. Check out this drift on the 8200' level! Wow man that thing looks cool! I'd wait til 3am then roll in it lmao! It might not be snowin right now, but heavy snow showers will be back later today! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams
  17. Hello severe weather season.
  18. Check out that DRIFT on the 8200' level platform!!!! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams Those folks sure get a TON of snow! Still comin on down!
  19. THE VERY LATEST FROM RENO NWS!!! 000 FXUS65 KREV 282152 AFDREV Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Reno NV 252 PM PDT Tue Mar 28 2023 .SYNOPSIS... A late winter storm will bring stronger winds especially for mountain tops, heavy Sierra snowfall, and valley rain or snow showers through tonight. Cold and showery conditions are likely to continue Wednesday, with reduced shower chances Thursday and Friday. It will remain cool into the weekend and beyond with additional chances for precipitation. && .SHORT TERM... Latest radar imagery reveals heavy precipitation spreading north to south as it accompanies a cold front passage associated with a mid- latitude cyclone circulating off the coast of Oregon and California this afternoon. Snowfall rates between 1-2" per hour are likely (>80% chance) through this evening in the Sierra from the Tahoe Basin north, with similar chances through early tomorrow morning for the Sierra in Mono County. Gusty winds, coupled with light snow character, will lead to periods of low visibility due to blowing snow in the Sierra through the evening. The southerly flow with this system will keep far western Nevada largely shadowed, with generally little to no accumulations expected outside of foothill locations. Rain showers are also evident generally along and east of US-95 this afternoon, with high- resolution guidance indicating these showers will intensify and continue to spread eastward tonight. Snow levels are expected to crash well below valley floors following the cold-frontal passage this afternoon, which may lead to travel difficulties for I-80 and US-50 east of US-95 as rain changes to snow after sunset. Through tomorrow morning, expect an additional 2-3 feet of snow along the Sierra crest, 6-12 inches in northeast California west of US-395, 12-18 inches along the Tahoe west shore, 6-12 inches along the Tahoe east shore, and 1-2 feet in the Eastern Sierra west of US-395. I am obviously very happy about this! KT-22 and hundreds of lifts across the Sierran Cordillera will need to be dug out laboriously by hand, while catastrophic snow loading on homes in mountain communities will not spare and will show absolutely NO MERCY. Ski Patrollers who maintain the various lifts and associated shacks will be stressed to well beyond their limits by the admittedly historic snows. This is no time to try and be a hero, but many will attempt the feat, and end up with a badly pulled and overstressed back. People who attempt to walk in the blowing snows will become disorientated and confused and succumb to the heavy snow. It will be very much like what happened in Buffalo NY communities during the November 2022 lake effect snows. They will simply get too cold then fall right over like Luke Skywalker did on Hoth and freeze to death. Strong Pacific storm windfields will pile on more snow, drifting many structures well beyond their engineered limits. The character of the snow is light and fluffy. Strong winds can and will readily pile that snow up. Destructive cornices will develop on many structures. Some will collapse, resulting in beloved roofalanches which will subsequently be documented on YouTube and ravenously enjoyed by yours truly. Roofalanche snow can weigh thousands of pounds. Try not to be there when it lets go. Snow will continue well into the week over the Sierra, bringing gladness to my heart. There will be hundreds of YouTube vids. I'll be in seventh heaven, happily watching every last one of them while blasting Peter Cetera and ELO songs at extremely high volume.
  20. No, he was not singing about the snow specifically, but for me, the music really works well making me feel even more happy about all the snow and how it is being blown across that 8200' platform by those strong Sierran winds! It's all about how the music makes you FEEL and snow and emotions. I am SOOOOOOOO head over heels in LOVE with western ski resorts! That music, makes me feel even happier about it! THEY ARE GONNA GET PLASTERED WITH TWO MORE FEET OF SNOW! I am going back to full on crazy about weather, I even wub the FLOODS in California! You Tube is chock FULL of snow vids, flood vids in California!!! I have lost so many HOURS lost in wonder over all the deep deep snow in the Sierra and all the wonderful mudslides and the incredible flooding! They said that Lake Mead is gonna bring record flooding this spring! I want even MORE heavy torrential snows in the Sierra! We have got to make sure California has enough water this year. It's so DRY there! I never ever get enough Sierran snows! Enough, with me, is never ever enough! I'll be blasting Cetera songs while I feast on all the wonderful avalanches, roofalanches, mudslides and all the flooding, likely the WORST since we first settled the West!!! It helps to realize something about me: I worship snow, to the TOTAL EXCLUSION of everything else and everyone else! I dont give a flip about anything on earth except torrential snows! That's why I am pulling for a total cessation of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, (AMOC). I crave The Day After Tomorrow, FOR REAL! Something I forgot to mention here: I just wub the plight of the ski resorts and their BURIED chairlifts! Poor Tahoe and their KT-22 lift! Every time they get significant snow, like they are getting now, they have to dig out the KT-22 chairlift BY HAND, using Jebman shovels! I always get a good laugh out of this! There's gonna be a LOT of digging out this weekend, becuase they got that wintergrass festival comin up! They will likely need all five hands up on deck to clean the High Camp platform again! I wish I could go up there and dig out the 8200' level platform all by myself! I'd show them how to dig snow!
  21. It is simply snowing hard, and blowing like crazy in Tahoe! The awesomeness unfolding particularly on the 8200' level platform is what you could refer to as My Precious! I am the Smeagle of snow, especially in the presence of extremely high altitude ski resorts and raging deadly blizzards with 199 mph gusts like those you will often find at the Sierra Crest! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams Check out the second camera, the famed High Camp webcam! That snow is just swirling around on the platform! That beautiful drift is developing as high winds and incredible Pacific moisture conspire to bring out the very best in the Sierra! Visibilities have gone straight to snowy, blizzardy HELL! The temperature is so sweet, only 20 degrees! This song by Peter Cetera has got to be one of the BEST of all-time for snow jebwalking, or even just admiration and total, heartfelt WORSHIP of a Sierran blizzard in all of its beauty and awesomeness! Turn your speakers up to 979 decibels and let the music carry you away as you are transported to snowy Sierran Heaven by a sweet beautiful webcam!
  22. I've said it before tonight BUT PALISADES IS GETTING POUNDED by snows right NOW!!!!! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams Check out the Siberia cam and the High Camp cams!!!!!! Snow is POURING DOWN, and it is BLOWING AROUND! I WUB those western ski resorts so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so frackin' CRAZY about the deep snow at the high western ski resorts, that I would willingly sell my soul, in order to spend a MONTH at a place like Alta, Utah or especially MAMMOTH! There just is not enough snow, NEVER EVER enough snow in weathafella land, to ever sate my insane snow needs! I require dangerous avalanches, perilous roofalanches and those beautiful cornices that hang SIX FEET off roofs! I crave INTERLODGE, too! HERE IS A PRIME EXAMPLE of why I worship the Sierra mountain communities so damn much! This video is my very heart!
  23. Did the Sierras get buried alive with snow in 97/98?
  24. Dont look now, but Palisades is gonna get smashed AGAIN!
