  1. This is a very good time for a leisurely summer jebwalk. Why, you ask? It is sunny with a blazing hot Texas sun out there, 102 degrees, dewpoint is 77 degrees and it feels like its 119 degrees. It's true Texas #Hellageddon2023 weather out here, and I am enjoying yet another delightful summer jebwalk!
  2. Everyone is going to get clobbered by torrential snows this upcoming winter, but your region is going to get Palisaded really badly!
  3. THose warm SST's are going to super energize that subtrop jet as the Nino gets stronger! The weather is going to go totally postal all over! Way too much rain in the South, much more severe weather, ridiculously deep snowfalls in places like Washington DC in 2023-24 Winter and lots more! Great times to be a weather enthusiast!
  4. CONGRATULATIONS! I KNEW you'd get the position! They KNOW you are the Best!
  5. Thats true. We dont. Whatever is causing this unusually humid unusually hot airmass, it is cooking us in our own juices, and the word on the street is it will continue for another 3-4 months. This is early for us getting low 100s and upper 70s dews even in the middle of the day. 101/78 weather is far more representative of mid August down here, than of mid June. A few forecasters are saying TEXAS will be the epicenter of extreme heat this year NOT California.
  6. Today - much cooler with a high of only 94. Dews ran 77 degrees so we were in the upper one hundred single digits of apparent temps. But now, in the dark down here, its 89 degrees but with a dewpoint of 81 degrees!!!!! This means the apparent temperature is 108 degrees. Time for another jebwalk!!!!!!!
  7. More of the same today, uncharacteristically hazy in south central TX with 99 degrees pure air temp, 77 degree dewpoint to go along with it, and it felt like 115. New Excessive Heat Warning runs for two days, thru Sunday, with apparent temperatures as high as 120.
  8. Today we got up to 98 degrees with 78 degree dewpoints. That is a real feel temp of 116. Right now, it is dark, 90 degrees, 79 dewpoints and feels like 106. Its not even Summer yet.
  9. I wub that snow! What I wouldnt give for just one HOUR of that cool snow, in exchange for Texan highs around 98 with 79 dewpoints and 116 apparent real feel temps! We did get issued an Excessive Heat Warning for part of the afternoon here, lol.
  10. Mets, could someone tell the Austin TX mets that we here in Buda are approaching excessive heat. It is 96 degrees along with a 79 degree dewpoint. The apparent temperature is 115 degrees. Isn't 117 degrees considered excessive in south central TX?
  11. It is NOW 94 degrees with a 79 degree dewpoint and the apparent temperature is 112. This is definitely jebwalk weather down here.
  12. Weather down here is becoming very humid. We are having highs in the low mid 90s with DEWPOINTS NEAR 80! Last nights low was 80. Its 92/79 right now with plenty of sun and an apparent temperature of 109! Might be time for another of my leisurely jebwalks. Its so humid I can pretend I am standing in Miami. I like to binge on CSI: Miami a LOT, lol. Well now I feel like I am there. Monday and Tuesday next week are supposed to be 104, maybe 105.
  13. Thats THREE massive thunderstorms in a row down here just in the past week. Lawn is in beast mode, now. It's going to get very hot for the next week, but we have already had 21 inches of rain this year. Thirty inches Is normal for the entire year in Buda. We are going to get a ton of rain this year and next. Virginia will, too, and in December the sky will turn to heavy snow in the Mid Atlantic and it will be massive storm after massive storm after massive storm after massive storm. Might need to change the name of my old home town from Dale City, to Palisades City. That subtropical jet stream will become a raging beast and the sensible weather will go full-on George BM. See his forecasts. They are fascinating reading, and may turn out to be conservative, particularly if the Nino goes very strong or possibly beyond, into uncharted territory. Dont forget the sea surface temperatures. They are already excessive, even BEFORE the Nino.
  14. As of June 9th, Dale City has had 15.99 inches of rain so far in 2023. Buda, TX has had 19.93 inches since Jan 1.
  15. If this turns out to be a very strong Nino, with the already elevated sea surface temps, there is gonna be a ton of rain and severe weather this year. That subtrop jet is going to get supercharged and will be in BEAST MODE like never before. Someone is going to get annihilated, GeorgeBM-style. And come winter, you better look out, Mid Atlantic. You'll be the new Palisades Tahoe.
  16. Excellent time for a leisurely storm jebwalk along the OBX beaches!
  17. There are STILL 167 inches of snow at Lake Tahoe! They are STILL ONLY in the low 60s in the daytime! I am sure Alta, Utah, and Mammoth Lakes are still Skiing it, Boarding it and Digging it! They are going to get BURIED ALIVE by snow in that Brobdingnagian El Nino that is still developing!
  18. Buda, TX just hit 90 degrees as a normal, average high temperature.
  19. Where I live, I look north and see a house about 700 feet away. South Texas is bliss! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!
  20. Don't usually post on Disc Obs here, since I am so far from the Mid Atlantic, but just couldn't resist: Dale City has 14 inches of rain so far this year. Buda has 15.70 so far this year. I know, I know, you guys are gonna surpass me any time now. You get 45 inches a year, I get 30.
  21. EL NINO is gonna be here by July. Gonna be sweet, cool RAINY times in south Texas late this year! Gonna have one hell of a PAC JET anchored over the Deep South and Texas!
  22. Got some 70 dBz cloudtops as well, Extremely heavy rainfall.
  23. Quick dumb question...... I have a line of 60 dBz thunderstorms bearing down on me in south central Texas in about an hour. What can they do? What should I expect? I am NO meteorologist, but this is going to be very, very BAD. Been real, REALLY nice knowin' y'all. The honor has been all mine.
  24. You needed to strap on some snow skis and enjoy some fantastic May skiing! Ski It! 'Board It! DIG IT!!!!
