  1. nope. perfect garden variety showers.
  2. we maybe looking at more than garden variety if it can hold together. Although morning convection usually does weaken as it approaches.
  3. looks like we'll never quite rid ourselves of this high dew airmass as it looked earlier in the week. Not a fan of August gumbo.
  4. been doin it since about 1968. Only difference, it's no longer a NOAA weather radio(which I played on loop for hours) driving everyone crazy, or TWC back in late 80's(people would ask who watches that channel for hours on end?), and now it's source overload due to the internet feeding the addiction. BTW...does that guy on the NOAA weather radio ever age, exact same voice today?
  5. LOT provides the most in depth discussions for benign weather days i've ever seen.
  6. local forecast concurs. A gradual step up to one day of heat on Wednesday, a chance of storms on a frontal passage, and back to low humidity, clear skies, and around 80 degrees. Can't beat it.
  7. good stuff. pretty sure I once stopped and had a Rhinelander in that town.
  8. Never a fan of August. And I don't know why. Hopefully, we avoid the Biloxi, MS climate it can sometimes bring.
  9. Hoping for another free day pf plant watering.
  10. went out to water the plants.sat in the shed and watched mother nature handle it instead.
  11. or never again. And they become Needles, California. BTW...I think my August 14,1987 had it beat. Had about 6-7 of these 1 in 100 year events here in the last 30 years me thinks. https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1987/08/15/record-rain-deluges-chicago/38e66bbe-8abf-48e7-9a69-c204a30991f6/
  12. confirmed. This mornings round pretty much guarantees green for the remainder of the summer.
  13. I personally thought the guy that wrote that afternoon afd had a crack hit. But he's the pro. I just watch the radar. Would not be surprised to get hammered again around 4 a.m.
  14. your so desperate for raging heat now you've moved your observation posts from Midway to St. Louis.
  15. bonus garden variety pour down with billowing cumulus, splotches of blue sky, and drops the size of baseballs. I still believe.
  16. it's a beautiful thing. And now clearing out as I speak.......
  17. see if LOT can verify for tonight. Great write ups as always, though have struggled with verification. Convection ain't easy.
