  1. Took this on Monday at the top of Crawford Notch, what you can't see is the clouds racing in and the wind was whipping which it often is at this location. It reminded me of the Molson beer commercials of the late 1980s that showed late fall shots as they talked about how "in Canada the wind blows a little wilder, the air is a little colder, winter comes a little wilder" if anyone recalls those. I'm not ready for winter just yet but this image definitely got my mind started.
  2. I’ve felt this more than once in the bathroom but it had nothing to do with an earthquake
  3. My yard yesterday morning. Made it below freezing for the first time this season, 30 for the low.
  4. A friend of mine lives near Mount Snow, his wife still works there, and when we saw him Labor Day weekend for the Brewfest there he said the same thing. It’s killing the market for locals looking for a place to live.
  5. I've seen them be closer but I haven't really started looking at them again until recently. These maps will definitely be on my radar again...
  6. on RadarScope I checked the accumulated rainfall IMBY with the KDIX, KOKX, KENX and KBGM and none were even close to the 1.15" I recorded. As has been stated many time before, those radar accumulation maps are less than accurate for many, if not all, locations.
  7. Old septic systems are notorious for causing random dry spots during dry spells but that causes it to go dormant, not dead.
  8. Forecast low is 35 here, sitting at 36 already.
  9. Agreed, I’m seeing some colors on trees I haven’t seen for years.
  10. I know there were trees that dropped their leaves early from the drought but the ones that kept their leaves are looking pretty good this year in these parts.
  11. Could be the first frost of the season up here Sunday morning
  12. If anyone was curious about the rainfall over the past week in our neck of the woods.
  13. What a glorious morning! Woke up to fog between 1/4-1/2 mile visibility. When I left the house and drove into the office the sun was shining through the fog, lighting up the fields of green and foliage that just getting going. By the time I got into Goshen the fog had already mixed out revealing deep blue skies. Just a gem of a morning kicking off a fantastic weather day, 47/46 currently at home.
  14. Up to 1.39” storm total with 1.46” for the month, more than I was expecting. It really dumped a couple times overnight.
  15. We all know that these maps are not perfect and it ignores Long Island but it still gives a good impression of how much precipitation is below normal since June.
  16. .15 over the past 24 hours, .21 event total.
  17. Prayers for you during this difficult time
