    A large brush fire now in Sparrowbush off NYS 42

    Heads up there’s a fire in Wurtsboro too. County route 56 is closed and the public is advised to avoid that area. This fire is active today too.

    A major brush fire started yesterday and is on going today up near Sams Point.

    It’s really crazy/scary how dry everything is.

    What some may find interesting about this photo is you can see the tree that fell on the other bank a few years ago. You can also see where that tree slowed the river down enough to drop silt and form a little island behind it (the river flows left to right in this photo). It was a full tree when it fell and now that most of the branches have fallen off it’ll be interesting to see if that silt island gets washed away over time.

    I didn't say the worst is yet to come...obviously the worst is over if you are looking strictly at high temps.

    The reports of summers back being broken were greatly exaggerated.
