    People take life, and certainly their snowfall, way too serious and thus get butthurt when Forky comes in to stir the pot or lay down some facts. I love the cool and cold weather and hate the dews but I don't hate Forky and the other "warmnistas" because if one looks objectively at their posts they are more right than wrong IMO. Have a great Thanksgiving Rich and thanks for visiting the hinterlands thread LOL.

    Your work deserves lots of positive feedback. I know it was a huge effort and I know it is filling a void in at least my neck of the woods. Much appreciated, hopefully I’ll have lots of reports this season to reply to you with.

    There was another one a few years ago in December I believe, great pattern, didn’t produce. Not being a Debbie Downer, just looking at the facts.

    Agree that what the models show are not facts. Hopefully this year breaks favorably for us but I learned years ago not to count on the chickens too soon.

    Didn’t matter if it was the NWS broadcast or a radio station but the excitement when the forecasted accumulations jumped up! I agree on the info overload nowadays, it’s not nearly as exciting.

    In 2018 I didn't get my first teens low until Thanksgiving morning on 11/22. The low that morning was 11 followed by a low of 6 the following morning, that was chilly. Last November I didn't have any lows in the teens but I did get down to 23 on 11/13 and 21 11/14.

    Agreed, the wind is certainly a factor as well as the timing of clouds moving in/out. There is no way to pin my stats on any one reason, they just are what they are.

    Lots of variables factor into this, like surface type, time of year, time of day but it can be more of a difference than people realize. To that point, my lowest temp of the season occurred this morning and its only 25. Most years I'd have some lows in the teens by now.

    I forget when Jeff moved to Florida but when he was still on WCBS here he would occasionally post on here, or maybe it was on Eastern before this one.
