  1. I remember that one too. Here I are the 12/80 stats from the same location in Walden.
  2. So you and @Brasiluvsnowaren’t destined to be future in-laws?
  3. I distinctly remember December 1981 as snowy albeit I was a mere 9 years old, but there are scenes from that month burned into my memory forever. I went back and looked at the COOP record for Walden. Now we lived in Fishkill back then but this report gives you a sense of the month. It was indeed a snowy mid month period but look at those high temps on Christmas Eve and Day! Even rain too on 12/23!
  4. Its rather fitting, something has to wipe out the snow right before Christmas I have been lucky enough to accumulate in the yard
  5. Not picking on or defending any model here and looking just at this Total Positive Snow Depth map from yesterdays 12z GFS. This happened to work out well IMBY and shows the snow hole in Dutchess.
  6. Look at that thermal gradient through our region next Friday
  7. Heads up, a Lake Effect Snow Warning starts at 7pm tonight and runs until 1pm on Sunday for Buffalo. Hopefully a band sets up over Orchard Park tomorrow evening.
  8. 1.3" was the total before the rain took hold, 34/32 with light rain. Will check the stake when it gets light out.
  9. 1” of new snow so far, 33/30, falling moderately here near Campbell Hall, elevation 385’
  10. 33/31 with snow, a slick coating on everything.
  11. How about that cold front the euro has right before Christmas Eve! Long ways away but fun to look it. IF it plays out like that it will get peoples attention.
  12. Yeah, a touch colder so I'm getting a little more intrigued now, lets hope this starts a trend.
  13. @wdragthe last thing you of all posters here need to worry about is embarrassing yourself. Thanks for the update.
  14. I see the weenies are back out in force in the main thread...anyway, low of 7 here this morning. Thanks to a high of 32, clouds, and relatively no wind yesterday, everything is still plastered with snow. Its a true Currier and Ives scene out there, 4.5" at the stake. All of this will be washed away soon enough so gotta take it in while I can.
  15. Glad to see that this moderator gig is paying off well for you, enjoy!
  16. After cleaning up yesterday evening I was surprised to see how much was out there again very early this morning. Lots of settling ongoing now though.
  17. A photo from my yard and a few in the way into work, my photos don't due the scenes this morning justice.
  18. Near Campbell Hall NY, 5.1" final. Everything plastered in snow still, a true winter wonderland
  19. 3.3” on the board but 4.1” on the ground in the yard…longer grass FTW LOL
  20. 3.3” on the board here near Campbell Hall, light snow now continues, 31/29. Roads are a mess based on the number of accidents reported and the traffic flows on Google maps. I84 eastbound still closed at Exit 1.
