A nice early May high of 67 today...65 currently.

20 days here as of yesterday, 21 now as its already 56 at 10:37am... I was down in Texas over the weekend and it was warmer here on Friday at least, and close another day or two.

Good morning. I have not had the opportunity to experience a horse drawn sleigh ride. I do know though that back in those days many towns had snow rollers that packed the snow down. Here’s a link that gives you more details: https://mwvvibe.com/white-mountain-snow-rollers/ I also recall learning during a visit to the Vermont Covered Bridge Museum in Bennington that during this period they would shovel snow into covered bridges. This served two purposes, it made for a better sleigh ride but more importantly it protect3d the floor boards of the bridge from ruts and damage done by the runners.

I tried it once and quickly realized it wasn’t for me. I’m trying to remember how I got back into safari. I think I had to not use my shortcut but open safari and search the board out and sign into it again. Up to 23 here now.

Agreed, it's potent for sure. I'm out this morning, various trees and branches down. We kept power fortunately.

9/-4 NW9 G24 currently. This cold is nice but it's that fake stuff from Canada. Much prefer homegrown real cold.

Down to 38 below and a wind chill of -98, winds of 105mph with gusts to 119mph over the last 10 minutes up there.

33 for the high at 2:59am, down to 20 now. Had a trace of snow overnight.

Just 8 more days are so and we are back into an October sun angle. Why do I mention that? Because that means at some point this month sunlight will once again bounce off the building and into the window of my pit on the edge of hell, a.k.a. my office.

I should have been more clear, my yard looked similar to the photo posted above. Perhaps a bit more but as pointed out and I agree that I don't think people realize how little .4 is.

For the first time I have no days in January with a high temp below freezing. The closest I came was high of 34 on 1/11 and 1/14. January 2020 had 4, that had been the record. January 2009 had the most with 19. My winter records here go back to 2006.

If seen frozen precip affect the tipper either way. FWIW the latest Drought Monitor, which took into account Mondays precip but not yesterdays, still has most of us as D0, wonder what it'll show next week.
