As someone who appreciates good sarcasm I'm thinking this thread, today, is not the place for it. Lets keep the good info going in here instead, thanks.

He was in the eye wall as it ramped up to 85 mph last night, the lights flickered off and back on once and some sand got under the posts for the stairs from the dune down to the beach lifting them up. So that needs to be dug out a bit and that's it, no other issues fortunately. Of course everything there is built to stand up to hurricanes to a certain Cat, which one I'm not sure, which helps a lot.

Not sure if you you saw it buried in the main thread but my son rode it out in a beach house in SC, was in what there was of the western eye wall last night, and quite possibly the edge of the eye itself as the winds just went to calm for a 30-45 minutes after ripping all evening. He was underwhelmed for a bit yesterday afternoon but that changed quickly as the center got closer, it was fun seeing his videos and chatting with him while all of this was going on yesterday evening.

His latest text, he’s no longer underwhelmed.

My son is down near Georgetown SC, he had been underwhelmed but things may be picking up.

My son has been working remotely from a house on the beach just south of Pawleys Island, SC...he might get some good photos/videos in a few days...

Maybe we'll get our first heat wave this weekend into early next week.

Anyone out here in the ‘burbs have a heat wave yet? For July I have had four days with highs of at least 90 but I haven’t had any back to back let alone three in a row.

Yeah, that sucks for sure . I've often said, I have no idea how farmers do it, as there are so many things against you when you're trying to grow things, especially food.

Surprised there was no installation that late into spring.

Is your yard fenced in? As you saw in my photo, there is no way the deer herd around me would allow for lower branches like yours. Looks good.

I'll grab a photo when I get home. Mine came in a cardboard box that FedEx delivered. The stems on the top of the tree were bent a bit to get it into the box so I was concerned last year when I planted it but over time those stems straightened out last season. Actually there is some bending of the new stems this year due to the growth and some of the recent downpours but I can see them getting more straight again already.

I have a white birch that's about 10 years old and for several years the leaves would turn yellow by late June and they would drop in August. After trying various things over the years thinking it was something on the leaves this season after taking a closer look at the soil I figured out it appears to have been an iron deficiency. The tree has responded very well to iron treatments and with that has come some decent growth. Then last week I had a birch bending downpour, the top third of the tree was leaning pretty good. I tied it up to straighten it as much as I could for a few days, with success. Then had another downpour Saturday and the top quarter of the tree is leaning the other way, LOL.

I bought a 6-7' Autumn Blaze Red Maple from them last May, Dendrite, you may have actually mentioned this site to me here. Anyway, I would buy from them again in a heartbeat. The tree I got was nice and full. I got solid new growth on it last season and its nice and full this year.
