  1. I wish I had only one more mulching of the leaves, that season has just begun in my yard.
  2. The models have been going back and forth on a deep late season tropical system, seems to happen every year. The 6z GFS takes it out to sea. It’s all in fantasy land but offers some entertainment, as is tradition.
  3. No shortage of virtual rain over the next week on the GFS, the 18z spit out 4-6”
  4. Its pretty clear that the pattern has changed as the fall season fully kicks in.
  5. Agreed, those things certainly have and will happen again but what through me was a "slow deluge". October 2005 was anything but a slow deluge to me but I suppose its up for interpretation. 10/8/05-10/14/05 I had 14.81"
  6. Has that ever happened? Up to .55 event total at home with a steady light rain falling. End of this week looks rather wet right now with a number of other events possible over the next couple of weeks. You eat an elephant one bite at a time.
  7. A stunning October morning up this way, up to 68 and brilliant sunshine.
  8. I was in high school as well, the weather that day is burned in my head forever. One of my teachers lost his son in Coldenham.
  9. At Coldenham Elementary School in Montgomery here in Orange County.
  10. The foliage is definitely the best in a few years around here but considering how bad the last couple of years were that’s not saying too much necessarily. That said, it seems a bit odd as parts of trees are flashing good color for a couple days but it seems to fade quicker than normal, have you noticed that at all in your travels. At least we have color this year, which is nice to see again.
  11. Was just out locally, lots of potential out there, you can see it with the maples along 211 between Montgomery and Middletown. The low of 36 here will only help the process. I grew up, and my Mom still lives, about 1/4 mile from the Hudson in New Windsor and the valley around there was always the last to change. I had season tickets to Army football for a long time and the area around West Point was always one of the last areas to change, at least the hills facing the river. Interesting micro climate along the river for sure.
  12. I now concede that many of the colors that we had in this neck of the woods lost their luster, with a good number turning brown. I blame those dews we had this week, who wouldn’t? The good news, I see some nice new colors emerging in my yard. #KeepTheDewsAway
  13. It sure is, this was my Facebook memory yesterday from last year...
  14. Don't you know that the non-local morons know better than us country bumpkins?
  15. Hard not to make fun of that guy scrolling his computer looking for photos of himself standing in snow.
