  1. I now concede that many of the colors that we had in this neck of the woods lost their luster, with a good number turning brown. I blame those dews we had this week, who wouldn’t? The good news, I see some nice new colors emerging in my yard. #KeepTheDewsAway
  2. It sure is, this was my Facebook memory yesterday from last year...
  3. Don't you know that the non-local morons know better than us country bumpkins?
  4. Hard not to make fun of that guy scrolling his computer looking for photos of himself standing in snow.
  5. Brothers and sisters, 'tis a glorious morn! I have to admit, the leaf drop over this way was not as bad as I thought it could be after the storm. Driving home yesterday I certainly saw spots that had that late summer worn out look that JC mentioned yesterday. This morning though, glad to see vibrancy making a comeback in the leaves. So if anyone is thinking of driving up here from further downstate, there's nothing to see here... for us locals, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, some great sights out there this morning.
  6. 1.66” in the Stratus, a little less in the Davis, 1.57”, but I found a leaf in it and it might need to be fined tuned as the Davis is always less than the Stratus, will work on that after work.
  7. I was surprised at yours LOL. Just made sure there’s no leaves in the bucket but we are clear and good to go.
  8. The .12 here yesterday caused a moderate lead drop on the trees that had already turned around here. While vibrant it looks to be a short season here, we’ll see.
  9. .12 overnight to begin softening the ground, would like to see some more lights rains. Thanks to that rain, some heavy leaf drop from a couple of trees along the driveway.
  10. I have guards on the gutters that work well but I did have a clog of tiny maple seeds that worked in there and got stuck in the elbow, cleaned it out weeks ago, been waiting for a good test and this week out to bring it. The downside, as JC pointed out, will have some leave drop if we get into the heavy rains.
  11. Yeah, I had that thought as well, it would be nice if the rain held off a bit longer but it’s also needed.
  12. Some of the best color in years (not saying much considering how bad recent years have been) popping up around here, looks like fall again.
  13. There’s an extreme lack of coping skills in today’s society.
  14. You must get a good bit of sun in your yard, not enough sun in mine to get anything of value really anymore. Got down to 31 for a bit here this morning so who knows how it looks now.
  15. First official frost here and down to 31 now a couple miles south of KMGJ
  16. Sure because we all know that when an animal is poisoned it decides to die in a noticeable/accessible location...LOL. Enjoy your afternoon.
  17. Then why would you say to ever use rat poison? Anyone who cares about wildlife knows to never use it due to the secondary poisoning risk. So I should poison the cat and then poison one of the hawks or owls around here that eat at the carcass. Sure, makes perfect sense.
