  1. https://www.narcity.com/news/ca/sk/coronavirus-vaccine-made-in-saskatchewan-is-now-in-the-testing-stages I guess they also created the Ebola vaccine.
  2. Lets not forget what happened in 1918, obviously that is highly unlikely with our medical advancements. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/reconstruction-1918-virus.html
  3. Yeah I don't get it. Food and water would be a top priority for me. Toiler paper means nothing to me.
  4. If this virus was allowed to run rampant it would likely usher in the next depression. It spreads faster than the seasonal flu. The seasonal flu has a vaccine. The mortality rate is much higher for this than the flu. Containment is prudent and necessary. However, the media panic is unnecessary. Everything is made in China and they have been shut down for weeks. The economy is run on supply and demand and the next few weeks we will see a shortage of many supplies. US is a very service based industry. I expect further declines in markets for the next month or two while we get vaccine made. I am friends with someone with a PHD that works in developing experimental medications for cancer. She said a vaccine would take about a year to develop and send out to the public. With it becoming a pandemic she expected late summer/early fall. Vaccines have started in developmental stages early this year.
  5. Ef 3/4 tornadoes at nighttime with temps in the 50s/60s is commonplace? If so, I need to brush up on my tornadic knowledge.
  6. 19 people were sleeping at home in their beds and didn't wake this morning. Pretty crazy to think about a nighttime tornado in early March with low 60s temps creating a tornado strong enough to do that type of damage. Was it 10% hatch tornado last night in that area?
  7. Reed Timmer does this as well for a living. Pretty much my dream job of all time, nothing else would come close a side from a professional hockey player and even then it would be close.
  8. I'm from New York and thought Sandy was lame. So overrated.
  9. He also got a show on television and is likely paid considerably for it. He's living the dream I wish I had. No one should feel sorry from him, he usually reemerges within a week following a chase on here. He's a veteran in chasing Canes all over the world. Some of those Philippians islands facing 200+ mph would have me worried much more.
  10. My uncle just bought a house back in Buffalo and they are officially snowbirds. They have 2 houses near Delray Beach a little bit south of West Palm. Keeping an eye on this one, as they will have to fly back and board up if the Euro is correct. Pretty much a direct hit as their house is on the beach.
  11. Some crazy videos coming out of Hong Kong from it’s second landfall.
  12. Ohio, your lake effect posts are the best on this forum. Always appreciate your insight. Good luck at your new location!
  13. Looks like you guys were right in Eries snowfall accumulations being incorrect. The NWS is tossing the 24 hour record and the December snowfall record and keeping them what they were. Interesting read. https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/monitoring-content/extremes/scec/reports/20180723-Pennsylvania-Snowfall.pdf
  14. That airmass resulted in one of Buffalos largest blizzards of all time. The entire county of Erie got nearly 3' with record cold temps and winds over 50 mph.
  15. Since it's summer the real thread should be about the warmest heat index on record for the USA. Has to be death valley right?
  16. That -114 cannot be right. Is there a database to find these stats? Haven't been able to find one.
  17. Anyone know what New Yorks is? Having trouble finding that stat.
  18. Congrats on the forecast and the great storm. Were you measuring hourly? You were updating your total every hour on the forums. Isn't it supposed to be 6 hour increments? I got scolded back in Nov 2014 for doing measurements every 4-5 hours.
  19. Intellicast radar works for Erie as well as cod dupage radar. There is still some spotty coverage though.
  20. I’ve been following their radar since the early season big events. They’re definitely over estimating based on what I’ve seen. Radar showed very little for Erie airport and they’re reporting totals higher than other places in which should of had more. They must have gotten a new met to measure this year.
