  1. The latest 30-year averages did suggest that somewhat. April and May were slightly cooler while September and October were slightly warmer.
  2. FWIW, I've heard someone mentioned the fall pattern so far is looking similar to 2010. Of course, if that's the case, I think a lot of folks would be happy with a repeat of the winter that came after it.
  3. I didn't know you moved. What brought you over to the Detroit area? EDIT: Never mind. I see your response above

  5. Yeah, observing from afar, the Detroit area over into SW Ontario has had quite the severe weather season this year. Frankly, given the dearth of severe weather here in Dallas this year, I'm kind of jealous (never thought I'd say that).
  6. Complex in MI starting to get that bow echo look.
  7. At first glance, today looks like a really good derecho setup across MI / ON / NY. Capping and weak low-level flow are going to be the biggest impediments. An interesting setup none the less though with good bust potential.
  8. Not necessarily. See the Autobahn in Germany, for example.
  9. Sounds about right. The weird thing though is that while the drivers are like bats out of hell, they're not reckless like in some other places. And they're masters at dodging potholes.
  10. It is crazy to see that 7 of the top 10 warmest summers in Detroit were in the past 20 years (out of 125+ years of records)... https://www.weather.gov/media/dtx/climate/Seasonal Reviews/DTX_Summer2021_Review.pdf And it's been almost 30 years since Detroit has had a top 20 coldest Summer.
  11. It was the follow up post complaining about the weenies, not the post itself.
  12. It's not about being mean to the storm. We got possibly a Cat 5 cyclone barreling towards a large population center and you're concerned about a relatively inconsequential dry slot depicted on radar. Let's be more choosy about our priorities and hills to die on.
  13. Would you like to speak with a manager?
  14. I caught it too before it was deleted, lol.
  15. How many other years, besidea 2004, has OKC not hit 100*F+? DFW has only had 6 so far, and they all occured in that late July / early August period. I now know better than to say it won't happen for sure, especially with the help of subsidence behind Ida next week, but it is getting increasingly less likely that DFW will see any more 100*F+ days this year.
  16. Those storms moving through MI kind of fell apart as they moved into Detroit. It seems residual wake subsidence from the storms last night / this morning is the reason why. Probably still producing some modest outflow wind, but the lightning is virtually all gone and the returns aren't nearly as ominous.
  17. Looking forward to the deluge of new Karen videos.
  18. Oh boy... CDC to reverse indoor mask policy, saying fully vaccinated people should wear them indoors in Covid hot spots
  19. Despite the extremely slow start, Metro Detroit has seen has fairly active severe weather season this year.
  20. Yeah, this won't age well. Going down in flames (figuratively and literally).
  21. I'm fully aware I wasn't (and still am not) an easy person to get along with. But at least I've since mostly moved on from the petty insults/attacks some folks still engage in with each other while also accomplishing some productive stuff.
