got clipped by that system around 6:30 this morning--the lightning was so close and bright it intruded into my dream. and now the watch is up for round 2.

i was there (and left) about 15 minutes before it started. no thanks on the ping pong ball sized hail. just thunder and lightning here in Charles Town.

overnight low of 59--the house is still nice and cool.

just incredible lightning for hours last night from that glob of storms.

lots of thunder and it’s been a whiteout of rain for 30 minutes now. but no wind and not a lot of lightning (that you can see).

most of the rain over the last week or so has missed me but .70" fell in about 25 minutes this morning.

just got a warning for 60 mph winds and half-dollar sized hail. i think the worst of that is going to miss me by less than a mile—good. don’t need hail damage.

the houses down the street now look like they do in the fog. ugh. the visibility at KMRB has dropped 5 miles in the last 4 hours.

still a lot of cloud to ground bolts and non-stop thunder. 1.3” of rain fell. temps dropped from 100 to 70.

reports of trees down across roads starting to come in.

i didn’t expect this. we were out earlier and im glad we got home just before it started.

i will gladly take all the rain. the rain power washed the front of our house. just tremendous lightning—constant like an August storm. this is the first STW that has verified for my backyard in a good bit. the neighborhood chat is buzzing over it.

pea-sized hail. and the winds shifted to the opposite direction when it began hailing so i think there was some rotation.

whiteout of wind-driven rain, and the streetlights all came on. we haven’t had a storm like this in a while.

MRB airport temp sensor is still down but the local wunderground sites have been 100+ yesterday and today. currently under a warning for radar-indicated hail and 60mph winds. lots of thunder from 3 directions and lots of lightning.

me too. and the MRB station unfortunately goes down a lot.
