    it's been 50 degrees for a good while now--we never got the promised warm up--and .77"of rain with more incoming.

    overnight low of 16 (forecast was 20 i think) which is the coldest night this season so far. currently 37/21 with surprise light snow falling.

    flurries started about 15 minutes ago, 38/21.

    some of you might be interested in these photos from our last trip: icebergs in Qaqortoq, Greenland: the northern lights in the Labrador Sea (blurry because we were moving and there was a scrim of clouds):

    ramping up again overhead—lots of vivid lightning.

    we were under a warning for winds to 70 mph, but just got a little wind, heavy rain and some thunder and lightning. we ended up with about half an inch. we could use more but we're not getting it. there were a few reports of trees and wires down in Martinsburg so the warning may have verified there.

    here come the storms. the first one is going to stay mostly to my north, but i can hear the thunder.

    a high of 70 out here. gorgeous day.

    close to a half inch in the last 45 minutes from the pop up overhead that keeps redeveloping. more, please.
