  1. growing up in CT we always shoveled a path to the grill after every snowstorm and my dad set up an umbrella somehow so he could grill while it was snowing.
  2. you’re probably 10 miles from me, lol. dogsled might work!
  3. still a snow/sleet mix. i can hear some quiet pinging on the window but it's nothing like what some of you are describing. the snow is blowing around in the slight breeze, too.
  4. i want to see pure heavy sleet, lol. i’d switch with you if i could!
  5. heavy sleet and snow, visibility down to 1/4 mile again. another 1-2 inches maybe since earlier this morning. it’s 80/20 snow/sleet.
  6. still snowing, small flakes, about 6”.
  7. visibility well under 1/4 mile—heavy snow. 12/8.
  8. you have more to learn about climo, grasshopper. there’s a reason Millville came out here for this storm. .5” on the deck now.
  9. finally snowing. good grief. road out front covered.
  10. we have a fake one and ours is still up. Christmas used to end at Candlemas after all (Feb 2).
  11. welcome to the beautiful Eastern Panhandle!
  12. first homemade storm-related meal: biscuits and gravy. sooo good.
  13. indeed I could be. but I am simply being direct because you are an adult and not a child. and I also literally provided you with a list of videos.
  14. you just asked people here to stop what they are doing and and create a video that already exists just to cater to you. and I literally gave you a link to a list of videos to learn about soundings.
  15. https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=how+to+read+a+sounding+video https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=how+to+read+"500+hPa"+weather+map
  16. they show 3 different things. and not one of them will make a difference as to what happens during the storm.
  17. right? think of how cool thundersleet would sound.
  18. there was nothing to sniff out. models aren't predictions. they are simulations of what is most likely to happen with a hypothetical set of mathematical inputs. as the imputs get close to the actual atmospheric conditions, the simulations change and begin to reflect what will actually happen. tl;dr: Kuchera maps suck. stop using them.
