  5. Jesus had nothing to do with it. it was paid for by a right-wing anti-LGBTQ group: https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/11/us/he-gets-us-super-bowl-commercials-cec/index.html
  6. it will be dimmer, as if it got cloudy--in 2017 i think we were in the 80-90% zone and i noticed that it got darker. we're away the week before, and then away for a week in early May, which is why we're just taking our chances with Cleveland. I have been reading an eclipse Facebook group and people are cautioning that the roads are likely to be jammed. if the roads are jammed around us the hotel has a patio out back which would work.
  7. we're staying just outside Cleveland, rain or shine since it'll still get dark either way.
  8. 1.88" so far for this event. it's the most rain i've gotten in a long time.
  9. the Ravens got outplayed and your opinion of a woman sitting in a suite who had nothing to do with the game went down. ok.
  10. low of 3, the coldest night of the season so far. now bring on the warmth.
  11. calling it at 3.5” for the storm, with the sun now shining on the horizon. it’s been a great winter week, the first one in a long time. and i’m looking forward to warmer temps next week.
  12. yep, we moved about 10 years ago. Charles Town is a nice town. visibility back down to 1/4th mile with larger, more feathery flakes now.
  13. a band is forming over my house. let’s see what happens.
  14. the one on the VA/WV line needs to drift a little north.
  15. about 3” of new snow. visibility down to 1/4th mile but with tiny flakes.
  16. flakes are now much bigger in this band. and the furnace repair guy is here, so we should have heat again soon. once I'm sure we're not going to have to relocate to a hotel, i will be starting to cook pot roast for dinner.
  17. visibility is down below 1/2 mile but the flakes are tiny so the small part of the street that got plowed is down to pavement.
  18. 5-8” now under 20 miles from me. moderate snow has lightened up. i’m happy since our furnace is out and i want the repair guys to be able to get here. about 2” on the deck, 25/23.
  19. i was just reading this to my husband. now to look to see if i can see the figures, because i want to know what I should be looking for. https://www.weather.gov/epz/research_papers_vptb_csi
