  1. and now it looks like a complete bust out here, lol. an hour of fantastic snow and now light snow and the back edge. what a winter, lol. at least my weekend plans can go forward.
  2. under light green, still dumping. street finally covered, all grass covered, sky is bright with all the snow in the air and it's got to be close to an inch. gorgeous. 31/31.
  3. under yellows with heavy snow and visibility under 1/4 mile.
  4. thanks--i was going to look for it myself. these are the only maps that matter now.
  5. i’m guessing it is because it fluctuates in ways that usually have nothing to do with the texts of advisories and warnings.
  6. it’s going to change as the drier runs get digested.
  7. I've seen enough. I'm in. the dynamics look great for out here. hopefully I will get somewhere close to what LWX has forecast, unlike the paltry .5" that fell here on Tuesday.
  8. that'd be my guess, too. it's fun to watch it add snow, but i don't think it is supposed to have a direct relationship to the actual watches and warnings, so it's pointless to freak out about it if the totals go down.
  9. in the mountains, sure—the winter storm warnings will go live tonight. but most of us don’t live there and will get 2-3”.
  10. the forecasted amounts always move around. y’all spend too much time on maps and not enough on soundings.
  11. visibility under 1/2 mile so moderate snow, tiny flakes, about .5”, 31/31. willing it to stop because it’s Shrove Tuesday and i have a pancake supper at church to help prepare for.

  13. Jesus had nothing to do with it. it was paid for by a right-wing anti-LGBTQ group: https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/11/us/he-gets-us-super-bowl-commercials-cec/index.html
  14. it will be dimmer, as if it got cloudy--in 2017 i think we were in the 80-90% zone and i noticed that it got darker. we're away the week before, and then away for a week in early May, which is why we're just taking our chances with Cleveland. I have been reading an eclipse Facebook group and people are cautioning that the roads are likely to be jammed. if the roads are jammed around us the hotel has a patio out back which would work.
  15. we're staying just outside Cleveland, rain or shine since it'll still get dark either way.
  16. 1.88" so far for this event. it's the most rain i've gotten in a long time.
  17. the Ravens got outplayed and your opinion of a woman sitting in a suite who had nothing to do with the game went down. ok.
