  1. low of 3, the coldest night of the season so far. now bring on the warmth.
  2. calling it at 3.5” for the storm, with the sun now shining on the horizon. it’s been a great winter week, the first one in a long time. and i’m looking forward to warmer temps next week.
  3. yep, we moved about 10 years ago. Charles Town is a nice town. visibility back down to 1/4th mile with larger, more feathery flakes now.
  4. a band is forming over my house. let’s see what happens.
  5. the one on the VA/WV line needs to drift a little north.
  6. about 3” of new snow. visibility down to 1/4th mile but with tiny flakes.
  7. flakes are now much bigger in this band. and the furnace repair guy is here, so we should have heat again soon. once I'm sure we're not going to have to relocate to a hotel, i will be starting to cook pot roast for dinner.
  8. visibility is down below 1/2 mile but the flakes are tiny so the small part of the street that got plowed is down to pavement.
  9. 5-8” now under 20 miles from me. moderate snow has lightened up. i’m happy since our furnace is out and i want the repair guys to be able to get here. about 2” on the deck, 25/23.
  10. i was just reading this to my husband. now to look to see if i can see the figures, because i want to know what I should be looking for. https://www.weather.gov/epz/research_papers_vptb_csi
  11. i drove 340 to head to Winchester--just gorgeous with the mountains and all of the fields with snow. i'm always amazed when i look up and see all the beauty. a high of 31 today, with scattered very light flurries during the day. 28/17 now.
  12. the low was 8.1, the coldest night of this winter season. currently 12/0.
  13. if HR has already told him once to take it down, i would worry about putting it back up.
  14. it's doing something because visibility is down, and whatever it is, it's frozen. i ended up with 3.25" which is the most snow i've seen in years (we were in Key West for the January 2022 storm). i like this light where it almost looks like a black and white photo:
  15. more frontogensis maps and fewer clown maps! lol!
  16. i would take a picture too but our cats are already mad that they can't go out in the snow and if I open the deck door, they will be out there like a shot, lol.
  17. almost 3" since i got under the banding. currently mod to heavy snow, and the flakes are reflecting the lights and making it very bright outside. I have been doubting this would happen and i'm happy to say i was wrong.
  18. under the dark green is a good place to be.
  19. me too. we barely got any snow from the last storm.
