  1. Sleet has commenced in the Racine/Kenosha area. Waiting for the changeover
  2. MKE has been progressively raising forecasted totals here. Went from 3-6 this morning and now 6-10.
  3. As someone who likes to camp in MN, the thought of the mosquito harvest this spring has me worried. Short of an impending drought, There’s going to be a lot of standing water at this rate
  4. You all have had a hell of a winter. Enjoy!
  5. See you later storm. Thanks for the good times.
  6. But I wanted to use my snowblower whaaaaa!! It’s actually funny watching the plow services go as fast as they can trying to get from customer to customer before it all melts haha!
  7. And the snow is already half melted lol
  8. I’d guesstimate 4.5in here in Mount Pleasant next to the lake. Been snowing all night it’s just so wet and sloppy it couldn’t accumulate to much.
  9. 4.5in so far. But it’s not a “fun” snow. As soon as I step on it, it just turns to slush. I’ve nearly fallen on my ass more than once. I’ll take anything at this point this winter though so I’m happy. Power has been flickering all night here and my internet has been out since about 8pm. Power still out across the street. Not even sure if it’ll be worth trying to clear the driveway in the morning. Might just drive on it and let it melt.
  10. Coming down heavy on the Kenosha Racine county line. Power just went out across the street from me hoping mine stays on!
  11. The general public doesn’t give a damn about the nws they laugh at the local news weatherman. But ok I concede lol.
  12. Well the general public can now go “omg Winter Storm Warning!” as they wake up. I’m sure it’ll be fine it’s Wisconsin lol.
  13. I’m not sure you’re adequately separating the general public from weather weenies on this sub. Again, do you think this has put the lives of the general public at risk? I highly doubt it.
  14. Why is a WWA —> WSW such a bad thing? How is the public put at risk?
  15. Shoreline counties in WI go with WSW. I think it’s the right call. Lake County, IL should maybe go too.
  16. That’s funny, I lived in San Diego for 7 years. And I’m not complaining I was very fortunate to do so. But damn the lack of interesting weather about killed me as a weather enthusiast. I do enjoy the season changes and bouts of extreme weather, even if it doesn’t happen often. We have good and bad seasons here in SE Wisconsin. What got to me this season was getting my hopes up and getting increasingly excited as things trended to our favor… until less than 48hrs out as it totally fell apart. I can handle seasons that are boring. It was the build up only to be let down even after watches/warnings/advisories were already posted for moderate to significant snowfall. The Christmas storm being the biggest soul crusher as it was early this in the season. As a snow lover I’d like to eventually live on the other side of the lake in a LE prone area. Maybe someday. You’re not wrong at all I’m not arguing against your reply at all. It’s easy to see why so many on this sub forum are just fatigued though. It’s been an exceptionally rough winter. Maybe not even statistically, but emotionally it has been especially relentless.
  17. I’m usually a lurker anyway but keep refreshing for y’all to give me your expertise and it’s crickets lol. I’ll take a good grass covering but I think most of us are just ready to throw in the towel and welcome spring thunderstorms.
  18. Ah I thought it was from today thanks for clarifying. Hope nobody was seriously hurt.
  19. Pile up on I-90 in Wisconsin. Never fails:
  20. I’m going out of town for a month next week. Prepare for the most epic February ever.
  21. Biggest snowfall of the season here in Kenosha. Buried!
