  1. Some of the showers here in Kenosha are pretty intense. Doesn’t last long before it goes back to a drizzle but we’re definitely picking up a lot of rain tonight in addition to what we’ve already gotten. The narrow band is just right over us.
  2. The lake is very angry today and will be the next couple of days. Starting to get those winter vibes. It’s crazy how windy it is standing right next to the lake, then 50ft away it’s relatively calm. ...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING... .TONIGHT...East gales to 40 kt. Showers and slight chance of thunderstorms. Waves 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft. .SATURDAY...Northeast gales to 35 kt. Showers. Waves 10 to 14 ft occasionally to 18 ft. .SATURDAY NIGHT...Northeast gales to 35 kt becoming north 15 to 25 kt. Chance of showers. Waves 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft subsiding to 7 to 10 ft occasionally to 13 ft. .SUNDAY...North winds to 30 kt. Chance of showers. Waves 7 to 10 ft occasionally to 13 ft building to 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft.
  3. Was hoping to catch a waterspout on the lake today conditions were pretty favorable. This little guy was trying. Saw a funnel very briefly but it moved out a little too far for my outdated iPhone camera to really pick up. Hopefully a couple more chances before winter hits.
  4. Nice little boomer rolled through here. Very heavy rain and some great CG. Had the power go out for a few seconds at one point. Nothing severe wise but man it was nice to see some lightning and hear some thunder. Didn’t really expect much of anything tonight. Here’s the best I could do but great CG over Lake Michigan.
  5. View over the lake. Love standing in the rain during such warm temps. “Marble size” hail being reported over skywarn in Racine. Nothing much here I’m just south of it. Constant thunder but unfortunately it’s mostly hidden cloud to cloud. Edit: Racine Airport reported 54mph wind gust.
  6. Lots of lightning and “violent” sounding thunder here in SE Wisconsin with that warning. Nothing to note of warning levels though. More behind it which I expect will hold together.
  7. Nothing much to note besides very infrequent lightning but pretty cool sights over the lake today.
  8. Weird to see how quiet this forum is during this event. I know it’s not a big one and is missing Chicago but the light show here in SE Wisconsin over the lake is pretty legit.
  9. Seems strange they didn’t push the watch to the lakefront counties. Maybe they will extend it later or just hoist warnings for them if necessary.
  10. Got close to severe wind limits here in Kenosha but not quite. Trees and lines down in Sturtevant though. Best storm of the year so far so I’ll take it. Not a whole lot of CG but the constant rumble of thunder is music to my ears.
  11. Getting very faint northern lights here on Lake Michigan in SE Wisconsin. Might have a better show tomorrow night.
  12. A bit hard to see in the video, but there’s a pretty gross layer of smog to the east over Lake Michigan today. Camera doesn’t pick it up well but it’s the gross orange color that smog typically looks like. Glad it’s just missing me to the east it’s pretty clear here in Wisconsin today.
  13. This was the other day here in southern Wisconsin at the lake. Just thought I’d share since you did. Edit: This is the sun at sunrise not the moon.
  14. My internet is out. #CarringtonEvent

  16. Incredible footage. Thank you for sharing.
  17. Very ominous looking next to the lake in Kenosha as the wall of read approaches.
  18. Is this model generally historically accurate? Legit asking I’m not familiar with it.
  19. Even getting some nice boomers up here in Kenosha. Nice to hear thunder again even if there’s still concrete snow on the ground.
  20. Actually had a flash of thunder snow here here in SE Wisconsin. Nice surprise!
