    Yeah it was some top shelf stuff. Tied my all-time record wind gust of 55mph and reached the low 50's several times.

    Something arrived about 90 minutes ago... big jump in density but a pretty lame jump in solar wind speed. Bz was down to -14 for a while and is now pretty choppy. This must be one of the weaker cme's ahead of the main event.

    Could be some pretty intense aurora action tomorrow or Friday night. Or it could be underwhelming like roughly every solar storm in the last 20 years.

    What an insanely gross look outside. Sun is barely making it through the smoke. No mountains visible today.

    Looks like I'm right on the edge of the thickest of that smoke plume. Clear view of the sun but it's too dim to cast any shadows. Can't believe this lame-ass summer has driven me to become a smoke nerd.

    Blue sky was short lived. Can just barely see red hill and none of the other mountains as a ribbon of smoke passes through.

    The only thing people in NH will remember from this storm will be tonights sunset. Good lord what a show.

    The edge of the cloud deck is over powderfreak but I can still see the blue sky from here. I find that pretty cool.

    Guess whatever was on the powerline shifted because there was another flash and now I’m in the dark too.

    What an insane and long lasting gust front. Sounds of crashing trees followed by a bright green flash and the power went out for half my property. Really enjoying that my house gets power from a different line. Not the best wind direction for my anemometer to measure, but it still recorded 43mph.

    Was such a nice deep blue sky today but I see another surge of smoke has arrived in time for an orange sunset.

    I've hit 80 degrees 3 times this August. Just one 90 degree day this year. Maybe the first year in my 37 year history here that every square inch of our lawn stayed lush green all year. One of the worst summers ever.
