    I still get excited about the first firefly sighting every year.

    Yes. It was about 3 feet tall when I got it and grew to about 10 feet tall over 4 years. Never flowered. Burst the pot it was in on two separate occasions. Ultimately I tossed it because every new leaf failed to unwrap itself without getting all torn up.

    Nice. I bought a bat plant. I look forward to near continuous disappointment over the next few years until I throw it away.

    Low clouds are just racing from all directions into that storm by Meredith. Started a time lapse.

    I am anticipating a reasonable amount of damage soon.

    I felt that outflow. Just had a nice lone strike about 1/2 mile to my west. Sky looks great.

    Scored 90.1 for the high. Nice damaging heat. Sky has been super ominous looking the last few hours.

    Hummingbirds are back. Saw a bat this evening. Great sunset. Winni railroad ran today. Mt. Washington docked at the Weirs. So many motorcycles that I've had trouble sleeping this week. My balsam fir grove is pumping out a nice spring perfume. Saucer magnolias will open tomorrow. Spring has reached full power.

    My tank is uncomfortably low and Stafford Oil is showing todays price as 6.49 a gallon. Omg.

    The overwhelming onslaught of gold finches is getting out of control. I filled both feeders this morning and both were empty by dark. That's 6 pounds of seed in one day. Thankfully lots of high intensity white throated sparrow singing has been going on to soothe me.

    If we're doing spruce chat, can we have some appreciation for the Norway Spruce? I've always loved their branching structure when they get old and huge. Here's a majestic specimen from downtown Laconia on google maps.
