  1. I have a fun fact. BWI has recorded 20+ inches of snow in March 4 times in the past 135 years. All 4 times BWI was below climo for the season heading into March. Last time was in March of 1960. Some may look at that and say it's super rare, I look at it and say we're DUE lol. In all seriousness, I enjoyed this storm and it got me to 15.5 inches for the season. So one more moderate snow or a couple small ones and I'll get to climo.
  2. Let's give a huge round of applause to the high pressure that allowed us to stay cold enough to get some snow out of a low track that had no business giving us snow. You the real MVP!
  3. Snowed here from 8:30-12:30. Got 3.5 inches. That's pretty good for a day time snow. Changeover here just in time like the forecast showed. No dissapointment here. Got what I expected. Anyone that didn't get what was predicted, bust or boom?
  4. In all seriousness though, what is the reason for no snow yet in Baltimore? Is it the dry air winning?
  5. Welp, into hour number 2 of expected snow with not one flake lol
  6. Here in Parkville I'm walking my dog and one of my neighbors was on their porch and said "Wasn't this supposed to start at 7?!" More than just the weenies are getting restless lol
  7. Parkville same. Nada. Really was sure this would start by 7. Pretty much an hour of expected snow is now out of the picture. Downing my expectations to 2 inches
  8. I'm out on a walk, what's killing this thing in Baltimore, the dry air?
  9. I don't know if any of you have Snapchat, but their map on there is pretty cool for events like this. You can click on any area to see videos people are posting, and you know people love to post snow. One way to track the onset and heavy bands.
  10. Well storms typically do move in from West to East or South to North so if comparing to folks in Virginia, DC, WV...yes, Baltimore would be the later to fill in lol
  11. The start time over here has ALWAYS been projected to be 7-8 AM. That was consistent on the modeling for a week.
  12. Pardon my ignorance, but whats the difference between -SN and SN?
  13. Well I'll set my alarm for 5 AM here in Baltimore to get out ahead of it! Hopefully it'll be banging on my door!
  14. Is it my imagination or is the radar substantially ahead and healthier looking than lets say the HRRR?
  15. Credit to some of those models that get mocked like the CMC and NAM that I feel did a pretty nice job with this storm!
  16. To be honest, as frustrating as it is to compare our 4-6 inches to the 8+ inches others are getting, I still would never call this storm a dissapointnent! For the majority of the week we were saying 1-3 inches was the best bet. Most of us made out better than that and had enough snow to shovel and go out and enjoy.
  17. That's true, the desire to have what's so close to us is frustrating, but putting it in perspective, this was still a success for us and hopefully the start of a very fun pattern.
  18. That might just be the most frustrating thing ever. You look at radar and see great rates right over you and then you look out the window to see flurries.
  19. Man...I was feeling good about getting 4.5 inches out of this until I saw all of you up near 10. Are any of you near Baltimore? That would be the ultimate punch to the gut lol.
  20. Looks like I'm coming in a loser from this evening stuff. I'm in Baltimore but I've got nothing but the occasional flurries. My total has stood at 4.5 inches. It's looked like the heavy bands have been on my doorstep for hours but just aren't getting here. Does anyone know the last official measurements at BWI?
  21. Measuring about 4.5 inches in the grass, with an inch less on the pavement in Baltimore. Not sure if I should be expecting more accumulation throughout the day.
  22. I'm north of Baltimore City and I'm still getting moderate snow with big flakes. I looked at radar a few hours ago and figured it was almost over. I must literally be right on the edge of the snow.
  23. Is it ridiculous that I'm worried about falling asleep because I don't want to wake up to brighter skies and melting/compacting snow in the late morning? It's one of my nightmare scenarios whenever there's overnight snow.
  24. Trying to keep myself up because I don't want to miss what may be the best part of this storm. I don't know if I'll make it.
