  1. Just got back from catamount and it was snowing pretty good most of the day at the summit. Snow was pretty good. Halfway down it gets a little slushy but still fun conditions. I do think they will get the snow that they are modeled for. Once you get away from the coast this looks pretty good. If Metro North is running the wassaic branch tomorrow board a train and come on up. Mountains were snow capped!
  2. Mixed snow and rain here in Patterson. Heading up to Catamount to ski for the day. Forecasting now 4-12 inches with the warning. Big difference from the 8-16 yesterday.
  3. Up in Patterson, NY. Not far from Thunder Ridge.
  4. And yet this would still give the vast majority of the northern part of the subforum their largest snowfall of the year. This winter has been atrocious, so just accept any snow at this point. Sorry it doesn't look good for the city, but I'm honestly glad I moved further away this past year.
  5. It never was a blockbuster for the city. Get out of here. This was always a higher elevation and northern storm. This is not “over”. Take the train to Wassaic or Poughkeepsie
  6. Naw we’ll be skiing until mid April in the Catskills. So far March has been a better month than January.
  7. Yes but I mean even with the more eastern models still looking good. Gonna be a great ski week!
  8. Catskills really look good on just about ever model. Incredible for there.
  9. I would offer our guest room to those that want to see snow but it is claimed this week. Taking my son skiing a few times this week too. This is the perfect week for his “spring” break.
  10. Still looks good north of 287 and definitely 84.
  11. Can we stop with the whole if NYC gets nothing this is a nothing storm? There are parts of the sub forum that will have quite a bit of snow. If it doesn’t snow in your neighborhood hop on a metro north train and go to the snow. It really isn’t that hard. I get that we all want something big but it is mid March and it is hard to do something big surrounded by water. Still looks pretty impressive for the mountains and upstate.
  12. Depends on a lot of things. There are verification scores available but usually the Euro is a strong model. I’m North of 84 so I do think this has a good shot for me. The past two weeks have also felt the most wintry of the whole winter. Very odd. January was just awful though for winter.
  13. Busy up here in Patterson. Called for 3-6 and barely got a dusting.
  14. Central Park has always had a tiny ruler it seems. Or they measure from a manhole covering the steam infrastructure.
  15. We really don't have to go back too far for a decent March snowfall in Manhattan itself. Though rare, 8.4 inches fell March 21-22 2018, 7.6 inches on March 4, 2017, and 7.5 inches on March 5, 2015. For a truly large snowfall in March though we have to go all the way back to 1888 in Manhattan where 16.5 inches fell. So I won't write it off yet, it is really produce or shut up time for the year now. If it is rain then the snowless streak of Central Park having 1 inch or more snowpack will hit a massive record before we see snow again.
  16. I believe that is still from Tuesday. We had about a quarter inch encased in ice.
  17. Ahhh and we finally have our deepest snow pack of the year, took the whole damn season.
  18. I'll have to head over there. I have not yet been there.
  19. We got around 5.5-6.0 in Patterson. It looks great outside!
  20. Looking brilliant here in Patterson! This past week has finally felt and looked much more like winter. Fingers crossed for a decently snowy March.
  21. Have you thought about just going outside??
  22. I am so excited to this!! My son was jumping up and down. Hopefully we both get tomorrow off to head out to ski! Looks like 6-8 for me right now from guidance.
  23. I never said anything about historic. But just merely pointing out that with the right air mass we can do well inland. Sure snow in the city is fine, but let's get it where it matters our local ski areas!
