Finished September with 13.38 as light rain continues... The wettest month since I moved to Waynesboro in 07 - that I'm aware of... Kept a daily precip record for 31 years either in western Albemarle or Waynesboro from Sept 89 as a 12 year old to early Sept 2020... Lost most of my data ( which was fine bc I lost something much more important than a notebook of numbers that day ) Started data keeping again 2 years ago... This Sept ranks by memory with Oct 1990 , July 1991 , June 1995 , Sept 1999 all of those were in western Albemarle, faintly remember a couple of 10 inch months in Waynesboro but nothing to this level..

Current Rivanna River reservoir west of Charlottesville, very heavy rain continues...

Very impressed with the models tonight - especially the NAM , which has been consistently showing tonight's heavy rain centered over the Waynesboro - Charlottesville corridor....Just about to another two inches tonight ! Extreme 2 weeks ... !

Very intense rain falling again. Approaching 1.3 inches again... This is an extreme 2 weeks - Approaching anything that I ever witnessed either in western Albemarle growing up in the " holler " or as a adult in Waynesboro....

These are some torrential showers along the mts down here particularly in western Albemarle - only took several minutes to flood roadsides

I know there were some higher totals on the slopes yesterday but that was the most impressive high water rises - 2.5 to 3 inch event I can ever recall...

This obviously would not good for Augusta / Nelson / Albemarle Counties.... Didn't think I would be saying this but the ground is so moist down here 0.50 would cause some issues ... Reminds me of the last 2 weeks of June 95 except nobody here has picked up the 30 inches that Madison County got in that event... However I have picked up 10.4 in the last 13 days and there are some higher totals around...

South River in Waynesboro is at its highest since Sept 2018 ,Florence remnants... Downtown may have some issues tonight... Heavy showers continue around the mts.

Kind of looks like on radar the center circulation wobbled a bit farther north than expected near the SW Virginia border b4 the NW move..

Getting the first real tropical like band here now in Waynesboro, up to .76 on the day now...

Water and damage in western Albemarle is about the same as Debby last month.. Lots of debris across roads and in fields..

Just picked up a surprising 2.30 inches with lighter rain continuing all the way up here in Waynesboro Va...

Damn what a night, I did expect thundershower activity but I did not expect 2.30 inches of rain with lighter rain continuing...

Soaking rain tonight .... Very loud cloud to ground lightning.... Up to 1.30 the last 2 hours - really could not get hardly any meaningful rainfall between Feb and July , now over 14 in 6 weeks...

0.51 for the event so far .... 12.74 since August 7 - despite only being a few legitimate wet days in those 6 weeks... By far the best stretch in some time down here....Could have used some of this between Mar & July....

Impressive lightning display along 64 east of Charlottesville... Almost nonstop higher up cloud to cloud bolts branching out in the sky...

3.89 with the persistent drizzle slowly raising my total throughout the day... Nice event for the groundwater down here...

That particular gfs run really does look like Agnes from 72..

Right at 3.70 with several early morning storms , drizzle now.. Very rainy night down here..I realized early on as a kid , early morning thunder storms in the mts down here usually means a soaking overall storm system...
