  1. Quabbin Res was 80-82 Monday, 76-78 today. Will drop 10 degrees in a week come Monday. Not complaining about these temps.
  2. Beautiful shelf and chased us from softball in Amherst. Just came in with a wall of winds.
  3. 3.1 at home. Hopefully the softball fields dry out for tonight since we have 3 make-up games left this week.
  4. We flood. Just under 3" here. That stuff around Hartford stays together we could see 5".
  5. Second severe warning of the day. Saturday's storm was so good though these will not compare. Only 0.3" of rain thus far.
  6. 50* fishing on the Quabbin. Have on a hoodie and bibs. Feels like September on northern Champlain.
  7. Early season was pretty incredible last year. Friend's and I skinned Magic on November 21st after about 14". Since my wife and I are expecting this month and will have less time for skiing I'm sure it will be a historically snowy winter. Heck, there are trees in the Holyoke Range already changing color. You're all welcome.
  8. Pretty amazing gradient. About half an inch here and 2 miles to the north in the center of town their stations are 2.3-2.5".
  9. Smoked in Belchertown. Good amount of large trees down, roads closed for trees and water, and even noticed a couple speed limit and roads signs blown over.
  10. 62*, low-mid 50s by morning, no more fire flies. Hope the heat lovers enjoyed summer. Fall is coming.
  11. Came roaring through UMass pretty good a few hours ago. The range south looked to get smoked and saw several CG strikes on the mountains. Over an inch of rain at home.
  12. Was at our friend's place a few years ago and had the woodstove going August 26th, wouldn't mind having to do that again.
  13. 65/63 with 10-15mph breeze. Central air off - windows engage.
  14. Just drove home from East Haddam, CT - 85*, 67* at home. Hopefully the rain continues and softball is called off.
  15. Power went out for about 30 seconds. Lots of sirens coming from rt. 21 area.
  16. First decent thunder, lightning, and winds of the summer coming through Belchertown area. edit: Just went severe warning here.
  17. Just like last summer. A quick rain and dews approaching 80 70.
  18. Any snow left in the hole/caves? 2017 there was still 1-2' in late June.
  19. We have one in our neighborhood, it has an injured front-left paw and has a limp. The neighbors all said it has been around here for about 2-3 years. I have had 2 encounters with it since moving in but the dog has had more. Speaking of changing undies...his first time meeting the bear it was about 11pm and he was outside doing his last thing of the night. We had the windows and screen doors open and I heard a howl from him I had never heard before. At first I thought he came across a porcupine and feared it got him. I ran out our back slider, onto the deck, and began running down the steps. He met me on the deck steps going the opposite direction and immediately sat by the slider door shaking with his ears back. The bear was trotting through our back woods to get away. His one other confirmed encounter was similar but he spent the next 10-15 minutes shaking on the couch pretty terrified. Pretty happy he does not mess around with them but I rather he have that fear about coyotes than bears.
