  1. Leaning towards a positive bust here. Not 18" when 3-4" is expected like December but I can see 6+ in Hippy Valley north of Springfield.
  2. Thumpin....biggest flakes I've seen since a 4" an hour day at Pico.
  3. Consistent fat flakes the past hour. Not much sticking yet other than the lawn. Why is no one discussing sun angle yet? lol
  4. It did very well with the first December storm and a few others with R/S lines.
  5. LOVE the prancing moose emblem. Volvos > Subarus in the snow after my wife and I have owned one of each. Wouldn't mind a V90 with a 3" lift on it one day for a winter whip lol
  6. I was shocked to see them listing lower liftline as open with snowmaking. I know they have done it before but I didn't think they did it often.
  7. Nice to wake up to snow falling and whitening everything up.
  8. So what exactly is an "unblocked" flow? Still learning my upslope aside from humidity, Froude, etc.

  9. 1.4" from the NYE event. 33" on the year.
  10. Was cool to see on radar. The classic Rt89 to Montpelier Streamer and then Rt 30 Steamer down to Magic. Think they grabbed a couple extra inches today too.
  11. Speaking of illness, I don't remember hearing about flu type b going around so much. Towards the end of the semester it seemed to be running wild at UMass. Wife got it this week. Our 4 month old started developing a fever this morning and is cranky. Hello New Year!
  12. Catamount really is an under rated area. I remember "Off Stage" being an amazing mogul run similar to Bear Trap at Mount Snow. Catapult is no joke. Looking forward to trying to ski their new terrain this year. It's like Sundown adding Satan's Stairway X2.
  13. Winds are roaring. Grill rolled a few feet on the deck.
  14. Solid 5-6" still covering the front yard. The pack is on to Cincinnati.
  15. South side of Bare and Hancock are where it is at. Amazing stunted trees, fire roads, and thin woods. Bare is super steep, Hancock is more intermediate/advanced. You can get about 500 vertical feet in on both.

  16. Can typically only skin/ski the Holyoke Range a couple days a year. Might be able to come Monday afternoon.
  17. "Wind" being the key at Jay - they have no problem shutting the tram and Freezer down for "wind" during slow midweeks in January and February. Is it warranted sometimes - sure. But it's an easy excuse.
  18. A t-bar at Jay would be nice so there is some way of skiing that place when there is wind or crowds are low.
  19. Best of luck! You'll be back! (I thought hip replacements were anti-bump surgery???)
  20. Seriously - last November was nuts if you were up for earning turns. Magic was incredible prior to Thanksgiving.
  21. Love it. Had a pass there the past 5 years. If you havent tried it get there. We have turned the mountain into one big glade lol
  22. Early season was pretty incredible last year. Friend's and I skinned Magic on November 21st after about 14". Since my wife and I are expecting this month and will have less time for skiing I'm sure it will be a historically snowy winter. Heck, there are trees in the Holyoke Range already changing color. You're all welcome.
