  1. Not too humid, mid-upper 80s and low 60s at night, I can deal with this. Our house never got above 75* today, was 63* this morning.
  2. Hoping the black flies stay away down here another week while the smallmouth are spawning on the Quabbin. It was almost unfishable due to a hatch of something in spots last weekend.
  3. Yea 63 here. I don't know if much will compare to the "swamp" that was last summer. Just haven't felt this yet really this spring.
  4. Low 80s today with a stiff south breeze and swampy. Should be some good boomers tonight.
  5. Nice little line starting north of Great Barrington.
  6. Another great spot. Why not make the quick hike up Monadnock? lol Goshen Fire Tower in DAR is another amazing spot. They actually still have an amazing scar trail from an F1/F2 from a few years ago through the park.
  7. Going to head up to the Quabbin Tower area when it starts. Amazing views to the north and west.
  8. A tornado warned cell in NY earlier. It's already so cool and breezy in western mass after 2 quick downpours I can't imagine how these stick together and bring much. What keeps them going?
  9. Some of the better thunder and lightning since we moved in last July. Good stuff.
  10. Funny. I fished almost exclusively for trout for about 2-3 years. Then when I started bass fishing, come April, I caught more trout with 4-5" suspending jerkbaits than I ever did with "little trout lures" and Powerbait chunks. Given the all trebles its a bloody mess with scales everywhere though. Stafford and Wallum you could go 7-8 casts in a row with a rainbow if you hit a school.
  11. Love it. Been coming down pretty good for awhile and the pine trees and metal deck furniture are turning white. Come tomorrow it will be mid-60s and catching fish.
  12. More debris, mold, and moss gone. Trying to take out the grubs before doing some seeding in a few weeks. When we bought the place last July, fugly.
  13. Yup. 64* around 9am as we sat on the deck drinking coffee and listening to the peepers and fox this morning. Had a nice sustained breeze of about 15-20mph and the slider doors open too. Then it went dark and we are now at 39* with the fire going.
  14. We've been watching a red fox couple in our neighborhood who apparently found a woodchuck den. They ran back and forth from their den to the chuck den 3-4 times, each time with one in their mouth. And definitely agree on the bard owl increases, have two in our neighborhood and spotted one a few weeks ago near campus just chilling on a road sign. No turkeys yet but we have taken down our bird feeders since the neighborhood bears should be out and about.
  15. Love it. Go check it in summer without snow and it will look even crazier. No matter the video or picture, standing on top of big ledges/ice falls never does it justice in terms of the feeling going through you. Looks like the perfect slope landing as well. Pumphouse Chute vicinity?
  16. We heated part of our home, and will heat the whole thing next year, due to them. The number of dying trees along the roads have made it so town/state/electrical companies, etc. just go around dropping trees next to the road and just leave the pieces for people to scrounge over. I have 2.5-3 full cords of oak ready for next year in our yard from roadsides. Will start scrounging for 2020-2021 soon.
  17. Belchertown When skiing in the Holyoke Range one day this year one tree had over 40 on it just in the first 3-4'. We have two trees on the edge of our property on the road that look to be on their way out. Something about this area...
  18. Think it is going to be the worst yet in western Mass. I've never seen so many nests on trees. Last fall I sprayed/removed about 50-60 nests around our woods and it looks like I did not put a dent in them.
  19. Awesome ski day. Magic ended up with solid 4-5" at the base and more up top. Left at 6am and there were a few flakes, by the time I hit Greenfield it was a wall of white and 91 had over an inch on it. Took an extra 45-minutes to get there. Ended up with 1.5" at home in Belchertown.
  20. Hit Greylock/Thunderbolt with the wife and dog today. Definitely has some character and woods are cleared all over. Boot deep fluff still in a lot of places. Never seemed to consolidate or thaw-freeze. Was almost a spring corn harvest on the Thunderbolt given the mid-30s and traffic. Below 2k there was maybe 6-8" of packed base. Up high it was probably 14-18".
  21. I won't mind 2-4" and then some sleet and snizzle if it helps the snow adhere. Magic has gotten about 10-12" across in 3-4 events over the past 10 days but it has been straight fluff and has not helped to cover ledges and ice falls on all the advanced/expert terrain. That said, just makes for some fun and technical skiing.
  22. Yes. Really liking the way the NAM thump (looks to be getting better) and the RGEM is with it. Even down here we might sneak our way to 2-3" a couple hours before pelting.
  23. 5.5-6" depending where I measure. Only grabbed about 4" from 11pm on. Still an awesome pasty sight outside. 39" on the year.
  24. Almost 2" down since 8pm. Going to bust low baring a massive change.
