    I don’t see much at all for the midstate in chances of storms & rain. Maybe 10-20% chance of isolated storm tonight. Looks like next chance is Saturday.

    I had a new roof out on not to long ago. Would hate for hail to damage the roof, vehicles & plants. The freeze in December was bad enough in doing damage to nature. Expensive fall already coming for me to replace many shrubs & trees. I would rather not add roof or vehicles to that list.

    It’s truly unbelievable how many dead trees & shrubs are throughout TN. Many started coming out then just stopped. My monkey grass has even struggled this year.

    Starting this afternoon should be some great screen porch wx. Actually has been for quiet sometime. Last night it was cool for late June. No add some storms/rain & that’s winning. My yard is holding on due to watering & the cooler temps have helped. As for winter. My beliefs are wx has a mind of its own these days. Seems it’s going against what analogs & teleconnections say it should. Expect the unexpected. Crossing fingers for a good winter but definitely not a cold snap like last Christmas. No thank you to that type of cold.

    Amazing the difference in damage in certain areas. Even my monkey grass has struggled to get going.

    Glad to hear yours are recovering. My hollows only have growth on the inside near trunk. Very few patches of green on the outside. My Japanese Maple has leaves but half is dead now. Had to other bushes that will have to be cut down to ground to start over if can. Then we had 1 knockout rose bush. It’s now dying. Strange how some showed life then died. Fall will be busy for me removing these 16yo Hollies & Japanese Maple.

    Sure crossing fingers we get some rains. Drought is setting in & longer it persists harder it is to bust.

    Finally rain is in the forecast for tonight & tomorrow. Then very good % mid week. Plus cooler wx for Monday. I don’t like the dryness but sure have loved the fall temps in June. Luckily I stayed ahead of the dryness & watering the yard has paid off. Some spots are dead but not many. I do dread higher water bill. Another thing that’s going to cost later towards fall is removing & replacing 17yo Hollies. Also a 14yo Jap Maple. Strange they started coming out & then died. Lots of very old smaller trees & bushes are dead around here. That freeze on Dec. did a number.

    No rain here yesterday in mid TN but cloudy & 64 was unbelievable for Memorial Day! Today sunny but low 70’s. Incredible wx it’s like fall. Could use some rain this week. I will take mid 80’s & humid with rain chances for summer anytime. Longer heat stays away the shorter time it has.

    Well so far the wx is bucking the forecast. We ended up with a nice rain this evening. Continuing our every 2-3 days of a good rain. Most chances here Friday & Saturday. Temps look to hold steady with highs low to mid 80’s & lows near 60! More please!

    Wow. After the rains this morning. This afternoon has been totally refreshing. Now I’m sitting on my screen porch & it’s like fall! Absolutely love this wx. It’s supposed to be upper 50’s for lows all week! Yes please! I hope summer is cooler than normal with nights like this. The longer the heat holds off the shorter the span of it.

    I see the CPC is saying this summer could be the coolest since 2017. I say bring it please!!!! Some rain every 2-3 days & more humid than hot is just fine with me. I prefer green over dry & brown.

    I did. I was given Paxlovid & it seems to have done the trick. Yes it’s experimental but what’s not anymore. Still have the chronic cough it brought back intensely but feeling better. Thankfully not even close to how bad Covid was for me the first time I had it.

    We got hit really good here in mid TN also. We have many more rounds to go it appears from radar. Love it! Hate it for the Taylor Swift fans. They are packed into the halls. Wet & sweaty! Luckily my wife & daughter & friends went yesterday.

    Rain is welcome. Parts of my yard are dying already. It’s only first half of May!

    Nature does seem out of whack. I am noticing not as many birds, butterflies, trees struggling even dying after showing signs of emerging. My Hollie’s are budding some but at the rate they are it will be late this year before they have leaves. I had 2 beautiful spruce trees that were budding new growth now the new growth is dying. Same with my Japanese maple. Other bushes like Azaleas are slowly coming back but again will be several more months before they have leaves. Unbelievable how messed up nature seems to be.

    This wx is bi polar. Windy is an understatement for this spring. It’s also to dry for this time of year. To think in three months we will be right on the verge of fall again.
