  1. Two things looks pretty certain at this point. It’s going to be cooler which 55-60 I’m good with. Rain! Lots of rain! A footnote is severe wx looks like it’s not happening anytime soon. If I had to guess. Severe wx will be very scarce this year around here. Which is just fine with me.
  2. Going to need waders along with warm clothes to mow the yard this March. Time to put a wanted & bounty out on that groundhog.
  3. I will add this. My weather channel app for temps is not biting on what the models are showing. 60’s pretty much next 2 weeks.
  4. I’m looking for the groundhog that has cursed our TN springs!
  5. Honestly at this point I would rather the SER win out. Give me these 60s-70’s temp days. This past week wx has made me ready for spring. Though I just know cold March is incoming.
  6. Gotta love college bball. UT knocks my TIDE off which is fine. #1 is a curse. Then they turn around & lose to KY? Then Vandy 5 games in a row beating AU in a really good weird ending game. March Madness is going to be just that! Looks like BAMA/Kansas/Houston are solid #1 seeds. Hopefully that is not a curse.
  7. Flooding seems to be the severe part of this past storm. Going forward I believe flooding will be the headline instead of tornadoes. Wet cold springs seem to be the status quo here anymore.
  8. I grew up in Holston valley in the 70’s. Man what wonderful times playing in the snow. We had a Pasteur field the whole neighborhood would build a bonfire at night. We would sled down that field all night. It was long & steep. With 3 wheelers back then pulling everyone back up the hill. We would rotate the drivers. I miss those days & wish my kids could experience times like that & the growing up on the farm. Moved to Nashville mid 80’s. Good snows then also. I miss the mountains & the ridge wood barbecue. I’m 53 & it’s tough seeing how times are now. Wx & all. It’s complete opposite of what it used to be.
  9. The one near Dixon needs to be watched. There’s no warning on it, but it seems to be getting its act together moving towards Nashville.
  10. Seems the storms around TN River are starting to get that discreet look. Especially ones coming into SW TN out of Northern MS.
  11. Looks like the front is already at the TN River? Or is that a line ahead of front? If so that could have mid state in clear by 3 this afternoon? If so a very small window for severe.
  12. Woke me up also. Quiet the show as is was the opposite of quiet.
  13. Couple of Tor warnings in west TN early this morning. Is it me or is the Memphis radar down? If it is that’s really bad timing. Mid 60s dews all the way up to Missouri border this morning. Could be a busy day. Hopefully not.
  14. They will. Being #1 is a curse. BAMA will be fine. Still will get a #1 seed & playing on neutral courts will help. Vols played tough. BAMA beat themselves plus refs seem to always be involved with crap calls against any team that is #1. More college pays players more I believe refs are also getting paid especially in football & bball. No sport is not tainted with refs being paid. See Super Bowl. Perfect example.
  15. Do we really want any cold in late February. Seems for most cold means 33 cold rain outside mountains & favored areas. Or could be the cold enough for freezing rain. Ugh. One thing does look certain is it’s going to be wet. I have said it before & will say it again. I hate cold springs!
  16. With the way this winter has gone. I just have a hunch spring continues to bloom early. We have the cold fronts come through drop us a day or 2 then right back up to 55-65. I could eat alot of crow. That would be fine. Then again I hate cold springs so hard pass on polar vortex into spring. I am ready for spring. Mowed today so my yard is ready.
  17. I mowed my green yard & cleaned up all the dead leaves off the Hollie’s. Ready to mulch.
  18. Looking at temps. forecast. We are already in a March type pattern. Cold 1-2 days then back up to near spring temps.
  19. Thanks Carver. Well soccer starts big this coming weekend in Gatlinburg with it being a college showcase. Supposed to be 52-54 Sunny both days! Can not ask for better soccer wx. Though the early game on Sat. morning @ 7:30 will be quiet chilly! We have our portable heater ready & battery operated hand warmers. These next 2 years are big for my daughter as starting in July college coaches can start contacting here. She has had some look at her recruiting page. She wants to play college at a smaller school. Though if Alabama offered her she would say YES! Lol. I know I’m going to get stoned for saying that! As for a warmer spring I say bring it! I will start building my ark for next Nino winter like you advised in your earlier post! Lol! I think in 5-6 months I can have it done!
