  1. The wind and windchill here definitely stings. The sun went away quickly this morning.. Sunday afternoon that windchill is going to absolutely be brutal.
  2. December is still below normal temps wise & looks to average close to normal for the rest of December. Much better than 70’s at Christmas.
  3. I don’t see severe happening either. I see it staying near average temp wise & rain to chilly rains at times. Which I will gladly take over severe wx any day. They can have the tornadoes out over the open plains where people don’t lose their homes or lives.
  4. The thing I don’t like about the anafront is hopefully it’s nothing like a couple years ago. The landscape was wet and it froze so quickly that it killed most of the landscaping around this area. I would hate to see that again.
  5. Definitely some cold air for next weekend. If we could just get an Alberta clipper to swing thru. Below average December looks to continue for the next 2 weeks
  6. Congratulations to the you & your wife on the next little one!
  7. Like Carver said, having the cold air on our side of the globe is a great start to have so far this winter. December is doing very well with below average temperatures.
  8. Keep the flurry of posts coming. When your on a flurry it says good things usually is being shown on the models!
  9. It can park there for all of January & February if like.
  10. Let the snow fall as much as it would like in December!
  11. December is coming out onto the stage saying hold my beer.
  12. Discussions in this forum are awesome. There is no doom & gloom (winter cancel). Everyone is respectful & considerate. I have learned a lot in this forum. As for many other forums having their typical bias, this forum has none of that. The whole picture of what could & could not happen is always spoken in here. Thank you to all for sharing. I do hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! Bring on that Arctic air!!!
  13. Great input & discussions! THANK YOU to everyone! Love this forum!
  14. I just read that a SSW is in motion. Is it right & is it good or bad? We shall see.
  15. I am enjoying these temps. My new grass is beautiful! Yeah I had to water it heavily until it germinated. Now it’s easily 2”-3” tall. I’m touching up a few areas that need to be seeded some more but with the temps next week after the rain, the fescue will thrive as it already has.
  16. Not that it has any relevance. My acorn & walnut trees have more nuts than I have ever seen in the 20 years here at my place. Squirrels oddly there is not nearly as many as there used to be. Still more than they can eat & store.
  17. Neighbor works for the forestry. They did control burns on the western slope of the plateau Saturday. Said they don’t go by the typical drought monitor. They go by the foliage conditions & under growth. He said the conditions are much more favorable for fires than most believe.
  18. I would approve of a winter like 96-97 or early 80’s.
  19. Neighbor rain gauge here had 2.2”. Very thankful for that. Went to Pikeville KY to watch daughter’s college soccer game. The leaves there & especially at 1000ft were clearly changing. Lots of red & yellows.
  20. I went to visit my son at ETSU today. Amazing that the trees are already changing in this area. I believe an early fall is on tap. Looks like we finally got some good rains in middle TN. Hopefully this is the beginning of the drought being eroded away for middle & hopefully west TN.
