  1. Why Montauk may do better than JFK and they will also have northeast winds from the coastal. Though it's snowing here pretty well now and accumulating on rooftops. Windy too.
  2. water temps are 45, way above normal
  3. yup on WABC. New estimated totals JFK 0.7" LGA 1.9" Central Park 2.2"
  4. what about for the Poconos? I may be headed there that weekend
  5. What does the CFS say? I heard that you shouldn't look at any of these models for a monthly forecast until the last week of the month, well that's here now lol.
  6. They're predicting 0.7 for JFK, 2.0 for LGA and 3.0 for Central Park
  7. Interesting Lee Goldberg said that Montauk has a higher chance of all snow than JFK does because Montauk will get more influence from the coastal and will have NE winds while JFK wont get as much from the coastal and winds will be more easterly there.
  8. They might have been visible here too then if it wasn't for the light pollution =\ Do you think they could be visible tonight too? I mean if it wasn't cloudy lol.
  9. I'm not at the beach obviously, but I'm 2 miles north of there. Does it look good for here?
  10. Damn it! I heard there was a big solar storm! Were they visible in the Southern Poconos south of I-80 do you know?
  11. that will matter in term of surface temps though, snow will not stick to warm ground unless it comes down really hard
  12. well I'm 2 miles north of the beach so I'm safe lol
  13. I think most would settle for March 1992 lol.
  14. Thanks, I see it's arranged from south to north, do you know if they have one for the Jim Thorpe ' / Lake Harmony area? The closest I got was the Delaware Water Gap and Stroudsburg. Basically looking for the area near I-80 and just south of there near Mt Pocono.
  15. Is there some sort of a microscale seasonal snowfall map that could be looked at to see what the snowfall distribution is across the region?
  16. The GFS is only correct when it's warmer than the other models.
  17. what about the Friday into Saturday storm? I am seeing our local media outlets predicting snow now and temps in the 30s.
  18. lower than 37 its snow, 36 and lower it can snow
  19. wouldn't ENE be better than easterly? NE wind would be ideal.
  20. RGEM is well known and doesn't look like the others, but GEFS, GEPS and EPS all look very similar to me, especially GEPS and EPS. I am going to start calling it the CEPS from now on, for obvious reasons.
  21. March 1992 may be an analog after a paltry winter season.
  22. But why do their names look so similar? They should change the names so their acronyms dont look alike. GEPS should be changed to CEPS. and GEFS should be changed to AEFS.
  23. Yes, it was actually better a decade ago when you could use it at 48 hours with reasonable confidence. Remember how great it did with January 2016?
  24. wow we should just go by region then Canadian, European and American instead of all these ridiculous acronyms
  25. wait whats the difference between the GEPS and the EPS? we just need to settle on one set of names lol
