A lot of counties opening up more drive up testing. Not sure if this is related, but it's been a big push at the local level.

Yea. The first thing you want to see is more releases than hospitalizations for about a week. We just aren't seeing that and the MIEMMS hospital data yet though.

From what I've seen at work, these numbers are not due to a spike in testing bandwidth. This is high and it's just the Monday/Tuesday slump. Our hospitalizations numbers are not getting any better either.

It's more likely we develop a treatment protocol before a vaccine for COVID19. Even still that's probably a year off, IMO.

Unfortunately we probably won't see much societal change for the better. Things like right to work laws have largely enabled businesses to suffocate any incremental improvements for employees in this county. Even something as simple as equitable sick leave has been squashed because it's somehow bad for business owners to let a sick employee stay at home and rest up.

One thing that's been really prevalent is how rapidly COVID19 spreads in a closed environment compared to the flue et al. Nursing homes, military ships, meat packing plants. Once it's inside your place of work it just goes through the population like wildfire.

I'd like to the see the euro pull the low just a tad NW a bit. But that's a healthy signal for another event worth watching.

100% agree. We started working on our recovery/re-opening plan the day after Hogan announced the shuttering of non-essential services. What is going to really suck is what places like Florida are doing where they're re-opening things full blast in the next 2 weeks without check. Florida is starting to re-open beaches this Friday at 5:00 pm and the governor has stated he wants to no restrictions on crowds. That's completely asinine.

I guarantee you between May 15 - 20 a large swath of this country is going to be in the process of opening back up. Come Memorial Day, you'll see crowded beaches and people clamoring to get back into bars, etc. We'll forget this even happened by July.

Asking people not to be selfish or adapt to a short term change in their lives is apparently akin to tyranny.

We live in the stupidest, most selfish country in the world.

We live in such a feckless society in this country. We've had a few weeks of shifts in how we operate and people are losing their minds. There haven't been runs on banks, we aren't out of food, water or electricity and society hasn't collapsed. We're being asked to be nice to the vulnerable parts of our community and yet people acting like they're in a communist block country. Just look at what's going on in Michigan and Ohio. Folks think this is bad, imagine what a virus or bacteria with a mortality rate of something like 10% to 15% would be like.

We're about to enter the "we overreacted" phase from the political talking heads that always talk out their a$$.
