We are ripping two gardens out for grass and re-seeding. I'd like a 10 to 15 day stretch of warm, dry weather in September to get the seed started. Hopefully after that we can get into a 'normal' autumn.
I miss the days of getting a 8" - 12" storm, then a clipper a few days later that adds a nice 2" - 4" of fluff on top of everything. Clipper snows always have that nice little sweet spot surprise.
Hummingbirds all over our flowers this weekend. Our large sunflowers are about to blossom, can't wait to see them. They're called 'Russian Mammoth' and allegedly have a blossom the size of a dinner plate.
The heavier stuff over the city is sliding south of us, but there's a bit of a leaf of light/mod precip that may clip us. It's been alluded to in the WPC disco:
